G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 When did Rogers buy the Jays? Who owned the Jays before Rogers? Interbrew
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Yuck Agreed. One of the worst name changes ever

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I will take that 1 through 7 over a lot in the league.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Yanks losing 4-0 Woot!!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I will take that 1 through 7 over a lot in the league. Most fans would take 2-5 over their entire lineup lol. Sprinkling in a little Russell Martin doesn't hurt either.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 So it looks like Change.org decided to promote this to get clicks "Hi Randy! Kathryn from Change.org Canada here. I'm writing about the petition you started last year to change the name of Rogers Centre back to SkyDome. We really like your petition and think it has huge potential. We'd like to work with you (for free) to help make your petition as big as possible - and put pressure on Rogers Communications to make the change. I think there's a great opportunity to get traction and media interest ahead of the home opener on Friday, especially because of the April Fools joke last week. I'd love to chat with you about this if you'e interested? Happy to give you a call whenever is convenient. Thanks in advance for considering! THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I love how openly he talks about things. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/shapiro-opens-saunders-non-trade/ Saw that earlier, pretty interesting. It's really quite refreshing after AA's fortress of solitude attitude.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I actually wish I hadn't seen him openly admit he wanted Jay Bruce. I thought Bruce would have been the furthest thing from a Shapiro player. Now I don't know who Shapiro is. Yeah, that's another issue all together. Bruce is a replacement level player.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I love how openly he talks about things. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/shapiro-opens-saunders-non-trade/ I love that he admits that it happened and talks about how they dealt with Saunders (openly) but I don't fully buy the justification. They could have got an extra year of control out of Saunders if they wanted too. There's no way that was the determining factor. Kind of danced around Saunder's health issues there but that's just a quibble, the fact that he opened up about it at all is awesome.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Bruce is a candidate to have a bounce back season (offensively). I always saw the rationale, especially if the Reds were going to pick up $8m in salary. If Saunders stays healthy and Bruce is the same dude he's been the last two years, then sure the trade will look like a good non-move, but it could just as easily end up being Saunders missing most of the year and Bruce being solid.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Martin out of the lineup today
bronson44 Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Red Sox legend David Ortiz thinks Edwin Encarnacion should replace him as the Sox’ DH after he retires, WEEI’s Rob Bradford writes. “Hell, yeah. He’s a perfect replacement,” Ortiz says. “Because of everything, but mostly because he can hit.” Encarnacion says he still wants to play first base as well as DH, but he’s already talked to Ortiz about the possibility of playing DH full-time in the future (although not for the Red Sox specifically).
