Anyone hear Morosi on Blundell today? Kept hinting around about a possible Hutchison deal, discussing the Jays lining him up to start at night, on the road, to maximize his exposure. Out of the Heyman, Rosenthal, Morosi's etc., I'd say Morosi is the least 'gospel' of them all, but he must be hearing some things. The thing that didnt make sense, is that he said the Jays would be looking for a guy like Matt Boyd last year, someone young, with options, projectable, that can be run up and down between the Bisons and Jays to help this year, but with upside beyond this year. Had me thinking, uhhhh isn't that Hutchison youre describing? Not sure why the Jays would give up on him now, selling at his lowest point in a long time, but interesting to think of what other holes they could fill with a potential Hutch deal.

The deal would have to be a whole lot better than Hutchison for a Matt Boyd-type

I don't see Shatkins reversing their quest for pitching depth, especially since Hutchison has more potential than anything we could possibly get a return of

I can't see how he would have enough trade value to even explore this, and that's completely putting aside the fact that we don't have SP depth to trade.

Makes zero sense to trade Hutch for pitching depth when he is essentially our pitching depth. Unless there is more to it then what we know. Because your not going to get anything better the Hutch back that younger. So it is basically a lateral move

I wouldn't trade Hutchison for anything less than Dansby Swanson, Ender Inciarte and Aaron Blair. Clearly that's what the market bears for pitchers of his ability.

Results matter mang. We'll have to settled for Dansby and Blair without Ender.

Why would we trade Hutch and sell low? He's our depth, has options, and has upside. I don't see what we'd gain by giving up on him at this point.

The trade as described sounds like it would be a straight up challenge trade. There would have to be very little faith in Hutch's upside to do something like this.

May be able to get Jeff Blair.

I could see that if a team had a flyball friendly park, like the Angels or the Padres or the Mariners. Hutchison is probably never going to line up his ERA with his xFIP in a home run haven like RC.

Petco is actually considered a hitters park now. KC would be a good fit park/defense wise. Maybe Miami for Ozuna :)

Hutch is likely wirth more to us playing in AAA as depth with upside than we could get for him via trade. Can't imagine his trade value is much at all. But he still has upside and options.

I'd consider a deal involving Hutch and a pitcher like Jesse Hahn if his health checks out.
