Jays trying to trade for Jay Bruce

This is a s***** situation now with the deal dying because if Saunders health. So, now we don't get a bad power hitting healthy LF because our LF is damaged goods?

 

Kinda sucks, I agree. It's still possible the medical issue is with one of LA's prospects. Probably not likely, but possible.

Definitely not good for the Jays on the Saunders front. Assuming Saunders is still an injury concern, the outfield looks really suspect without Revere in LF. I realize Pillar-mania has swept the nation, but you can count me in as someone who's not overly convinced with his bat... I think he's a strong candidate for regression.

 

Would be nice to see Shapiro acquire some MLB ready depth before the season starts... And no I don't think Junior Lake meets that criteria.

I'm a little surprised he hasn't been swiped up yet. Is he looking for some massive pay day or something? I've always liked his skill-set and figured there might be more in the way of a ceiling. I also really like Dexter Fowler and surprised more teams weren't after him. I think the Orioles gotta pretty good deal with him.

 

Whatever the plan is, they gotta do something... Imagine if Bautista goes down for any time at all? Would be disastrous.

Why did the Jays even bring back Saunders if they have this little faith in him? Does this have something to do with Atkins not being in place when the decision to offer him arb was made? I'm perplexed by all of this.

I wonder what Coghlan would cost? He'd be a nice fit in LF, and can fill in at most positions in a pinch. Seems he's probably out of a starting spot this year with the Cubs, and is a free agent after the season.
