Not exactly. His wOBA and wRC+ in Colorado last year were .349 and 104, respectively. In Toronto, those numbers dipped significantly to .298 and 86. SSS aside, neither output is on par with his career norms, but I fully expect an offensive turnaround this season to something more on par with his career .377 wOBA and 123 wRC+. Actually, I'm expecting even better offensive numbers.

At least his defense is still fantastic, so even if he's a league average bat moving forward (which I've explicitly stated above is not what I expect) he'll still likely put up close to 3 WAR.

And yes, I realize I'm preaching to the choir here, as you've stated you believe Tulo will, in fact, bounce back this season. I suppose this is more intended as a general response, but I'm using your post as a catalyst for my argument.

Ya I'm pretty dumn and was comparing those numbers to his end of year stats. Pretty big derp, thanks for showing me up.

Over 91 games*

I know how good he's been, but there are definitely some concerns moving forward. I'm hoping he has a couple great seasons left in him.

Ya - 5+ WAR in only 91 games...drool

Travis is expected to miss most if not all of the Spring recovering.

Martin BB rate was down from his exceptional 2014. But his lifetime OBP is .350 and wRC+ 107.

Martin would be a better leadoff hitter than batting 3rd due to his OBP, but I wouldn't want to give that many plate appearances to him with the Jays wealth of great hitters.

Yes you can. Also, I hope you realize our incumbent #3 hitter has the highest BB rate on the team. I also hope you realize that the 3-hole is actually not where you should slot your best hitter, but I somehow doubt you do.

Yeah that was worded too strongly, but it's not likely to happen very often. I would prefer Bautista leadoff, but I don't think he would be happy with that, and if that's the case the difference between Donaldson and Bautista is close enough that I would prefer the guy who walks more often going before the guy who hits more often. Ideally you want Bautista, Donaldson, Edwin to start the lineup so they get the most plate appearances.

Thing that just amazes me about Tulo is how awkward he looks throwing the ball. It's almost like he prefers slinging it on the run, but the accuracy is just incredible.

His style is something I haven't seen before. I seem to remember an interview where he said he prefers to throw on the run. He practiced it so much as a kid he just got used to preferring it over a standing start. After Reyes, I love watching him play D.

He's been quoted about this before, he prefers not to plant, everything on the move.

Yes sir, he's said that. I should've read down another post.

With a healthy Tulo and Travis on the DL:

Revere

Tulo

Donaldson

Bautista

EE

Martin

Colabello/Smoak

Pillar

Goins

It's the best lineup in baseball even with Travis on the DL to start the year (not that he is a key kog).

Don't like Revere leading off, With his low OBP and wRC+ he shouldn't be given that many PA.

If he's in the line-up, 7th or 8th is good with an actual steal threat in the order.

Kinda scared to see who Gibby bats leadoff now. I'm gonna go ahead and guess Kevin Pillar will be batting leadoff on opening day.

Travis might work in the leadoff spot, but it should probably be Tulo until then.

Might be Pompey.
