Jim, why did you copy pasta two separate rules, together? You're a dingleberry. That's just a threshold for your own MILB players, lol.

This one is the correct rule...

Dingleberry eh? You dumbass.

Just as an example, Vidal Brujan has never played a MLB game, and does not have a green flag. In his case, he is owned (by me) but there are other players in the same situation that are not owned. This is a COVID anomaly this year.

It's not as simple as you suggest.

Is Vidal on the 40 man Rays roster?

So you're saying there's guys that never played an MLB game and don't have a green flag? So what, you can still draft them?

He was on last year's taxi squad or whatever it was called, which is why he doesn't have a green flag even though he has never played a MLB game. I don't know how many players are in the same situation that are unowned, but there will be some.

I own Edward Cabrera - SP (MIA) in 3-4 leagues. I acquired him in 2 or 3 with no green flag. He has never set foot in MLB. I wrote Fantrax the other day and asked why he doesn't have a green flag because it is causing issues with my MLB roster/s. Fantrax replied he was placed on the Marlin's 40 man, I think for the playoffs and is still on the 40 man, so he is not eligible for a green flag and they won't give one...???

Of course, but only a commish can move said player to the farm.

A commissioner can move said player to the minors, it's no big deal. I'm still puzzled why you brought up player thresholds. That has nothing to do with the draft.

The league rules aren't clear, but will be made clear before the draft.

Shaddup that's pretty damn clear...

3.3 Players Eligible for the NPD

Any player that is a) unowned in Fantrax, and B) property of an MLB team at the start of the draft is eligible to be selected in the draft. If a player signs with an MLB team after the draft has started, he is not eligible.

Correct. He won't get a green flag until he gets assigned to minor league camp later in ST.

OK, let's run through this. Here's a list of considerations:

1. Players are only eligible to be drafted if they've played 0 MLB games. This is how things have always been done. The only difference between this draft and previous drafts is that players like Kim, who signed MLB deals, are now also eligible for the NPD instead of being distributed in the now-defunct waiver draft. Rule 3.3 wasn't clear enough on this, so I've edited it to say the following:

Any player that is a) unowned in Fantrax, and B) property of an MLB team at the start of the draft is eligible to be selected in the draft., and c) has never played an MLB game. If a player signs with an MLB team after the draft has started, he is not eligible.

2. The promotion thresholds are something entirely different. Players who exceed these thresholds might be on someone's farm, either because they drafted them (when they had 0 mlb games) or because they added them previously from free agency (if they had played at least 1 MLB game) and then moved them down. Anyone who exceeds these thresholds must be removed from people's farms prior to the start of the NPD. Narcs are encouraged. This is rule 2.2. I've made two changes: I've updated the stated farm size to 2.2 and added a clause where owners will add a player to a team's farm if they draft someone in the NPD with no green flag.

2.1 MLB Rosters

Each MLB roster will consist of 25 players, plus up to 5 DL slots.

Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL, DL, DL

Teams can also roster a max of 12 minor-league players.

2.2 MiLB Rosters

Teams can also keep a maximum of 15 players on their minor league roster. Owners can move players freely between their farm and MLB rosters. In Fantrax, players that aren't on a 26-man roster are identified with a green flag. Players without a green flag (i.e. players on a 26-man roster in MLB) are allowed on minor league rosters, however, Fantrax will not allow a player to be moved from an owner's MLB roster to their farm if they don't have a green flag (i.e. the player is on an MLB roster in real life). Commisioners will only act on requests to move a player to an owner's farm if:

a)an owner acquires a player via trade who a) has no green flag, and B) was on his previous owner's farm at the time of the trade.

b)an owner drafts a player with no green flag

Prospects may be kept on an MiLB roster until the following MLB conditions are met:

Hitters: 1000 career PA

Pitchers: 50 career X [where X = GS + 0.5(relief appearances)]

Once a prospect has crossed one of these thresholds, he must be promoted to the MLB roster prior to the start of the NPD (see section 3). If a player has exceed this threshold and is not removed from the owner's farm before the start of the NPD, he will be removed from the owner's roster and be made available in the draft.

3. The draft room will allow you to draft players with no green flags. If the pick is legal, commishes can move the player down. There might be a draft room issue here, as owners with full 26-man MLB rosters won't have the space to draft a non-green flag. There are a couple of possible workarounds here:

a) commishes just add the player directly to the owner's farm, outside of the draft room

B) we expand pro rosters temporarily to 28 or something to allow these players to be drafted, then reduce them back to 26 once commishes have moved any non-green flags to farms at the owners' request.

3.B) is what we use in the FC, bro. Agreed on everything else.

I'll offer 16 and 20 plus a great reliever for a 1st next season at best.

I didn’t think you’d make it til 12:28am with that head start

DFKM... 3 foot.

Which reliever are you referring to? Yates? Anderson?

Idk, Jim, maybe you should inquire?

Guys I bumped my trade block, any of those guys plus all my Minors available for a significant upgrade on my roster, preferably OF, really doesn't matter. Hit me up!
