Bruh, ya never replied to my PM.

My bad.... was going to. Looked over your assets didn't see how a deal for Baez could work, as you alluded to in describing my farm as loaded.

Yes, legit but have some better offers.

does Morejon tip the scales? Or do you want a bat back? Missing this years draft and trading most of my farm for Sale and Verlander is hurting me now.

With that said Jon Gray and Adrian Morejon are available for an OF, 1B, 3B or C and an RP

Bryant might be avail if you added a couple of those guys to Votto

Since I'm in 1st place I'm looking to add players who aren't on the DL.

Holy f***. This seems incredibly ill-advised.

Crawford droppable

Baez at 25 with a breakout season, this could be his norm going forward in which case his positional flexibility 2B, 3B, SS makes him an incredibly valuable asset

Baez has a 6:1 K:BB even in this ‘breakout year’. Expecting him to wRC+ 130 going forward with no control of the strike zone seems I’ll advised. Which I’m sure is why you traded him. This looks like a classic sell high.

I look forward to my time in Dinger’s signature if I’m wrong.

You both advised strongly against. My perspective isn’t so much that I fully buy Baez’ breakout, moreso that Seager’s injuries and lack of HR power could limit the long term fantasy value. Baez has a lot of category juice and multi position eligibility. Seager just had two surgeries. I dunno. Seager will probably never have a fantasy season as good as Baez is having now and I want to win.

Yesterday’s news of Seager’s hip (I think) surgery did hurt his value. Did you know about that a couple days ago?

Owns Javier Baez in dynasty

That's how you know it's coming from the heart (I also moved him in DDL for a pitcher who's been injured since I acquired him f*** my life).

League average Javier Baez in LoD is still a very valuable piece unlike in this league.

I think that's a built-in assumption, as well as the assumption that Corey Seager is a better pure hitter (in terms of AVG, OBP, wRC+) over the long term. Jim wouldn't have done this trade if he thought they were exactly as good as one another going forward and I wouldn't have done this deal if Seager was healthy and helping me win this year. I do think there are some red flags about Seager that some may be more willing to gloss over, and I also have a higher tolerance for Ks than some owners. It's entirely possible that Baez' power breakout will lead to increased BB rate over time and that Seager's injuries will deplete his power and make him go down the Joe Mauer/Buster Posey path. Or Baez could pull a Marcell Ozuna next year (BTS' comp) and Seager takes a Mookie Betts style leap into the stratosphere. There are a range of outcomes at play here. I just know I am an impatient man and Baez can help me a lot this season while Seager can't, and I'm willing to roll the dice that they could possibly be equal (but different) fantasy players going forward.

I understand your points while I disagree with them, Seager's injuries are quite concerning and there's no guarantee that he'll even get back to the level where he was at in his first two years in the league.

The bolded holds no basis though, Baez's PD stats have not changed in any way to indicate that a boost in walk rate is coming, as a matter of fact he's actually swinging at pitches outside the strikezone at a career high rate, one that continues to trend up with every year that he's been in the league. This is who he is, an aggressive hitter with prodigious bat speed which results in excellent contact off the bat, but which makes him prone to swing at every pitch believing that he can hit it.

If Rougned Odor can up his walk rate to 8.5%, then anyone can!

*8.6%

I'm not sure I'd move Baez for Seager in the DDL. Would be a tough call though.

This is a bad sign, Dinger.

So... is dinger going to make the playoffs?

I can't say I wouldn't get some level of satisfaction out of this blowing up in Dinger's face after he rudely ignored the advice he asked for.

It’s going to be close. My team has been on fire after starting the season like 25 games below .500. It would sure help if Judge hurried back and maybe Ohtani pitched.

It's really competitive. I'm 43 games over 0.500 and still don't feel safe. It doesn't help that the glut of managers in the 7-10 spots are all very competent mangers (you, jaysblue, P2F, j4l19). 9th place team could finish like 40 games over 0.500.

I have a pretty favourable schedule ROS, my matchup against jaysblue in week 20 could be huge for one of us.
