Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 lol Rodney? Oh god, yeah...send me something i will probably accept. Hey man, look at his splits he was excellent after a slow start, also we're talking about a Waiver upgrade where your first is at 43, lol.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Nice deal, boys. It was a tough negotiation. Took us months to hammer out the details, but i think we came up with something that finally works.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Anyone want C.C Sabathia for a very small waiver upgrade?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) So everyone is cool with Ohtani occupying one roster spot for the cut, whether farm or MLB, and two if only one Ohtani is traded? Edited January 28, 2018 by BTS

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 So everyone is cool with Ohtani occupying one roster spot for the cut, whether farm or MLB, and two if only one Ohtani is traded? Yeah, as long as we do it with other guys too if they look like they may become true two-way players.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 wondering if i should trade for Hohtani on the chance he turns a Babe Ruth
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 So everyone is cool with Ohtani occupying one roster spot for the cut, whether farm or MLB, and two if only one Ohtani is traded? How will it work for the waiver draft though? If the Ohtani owner has just one roster spot through the cut they still can't use all of their waiver picks so that they'll have 25 MLB players because of the player and hitter versions each occupying one spot.

They'd have to count as two players for everything EXCEPT the cutdown.

Yeah if Ohtani is promoted pre-cut, he'll count as one asset for the purposes of the cut, but come the waiver draft, will take up two yahoo spots. If he's left on the farm, it's a non-issue. Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Ok, Dinger wins the Ohtani sweepstakes. Brent Honeywell + Estevan Florial + Scott Kingery + MiLB 7 for Shohei Ohtani + MiLB 22 Dinger to confirm

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 I'm really surprised that's all it cost you.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 What's the probability that Honeywell alone carries more fantasy than Ohtani over the next five years?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 What's the probability that Honeywell alone carries more fantasy than Ohtani over the next five years? Very high imo, and that's assuming Ohtani is healthy. He might struggle with wins a little though as Tampa kinda retools beyond their normal retooling.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Very high imo, and that's assuming Ohtani is healthy. I think, accounting for Ohtani's health questions, you wouldn't put it at less than like 40%.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 I'm really surprised that's all it cost you. Jokes, right?

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I will confirm. Flags Fly Forever, right?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 What's the probability that Honeywell alone carries more fantasy than Ohtani over the next five years? As a pitcher, I'd say maybe 30%. Combined with the chance Ohtani can hit tho, lower than that. I do love Honeywell though, I'll have to try to reacquire him elsewhere.
