Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Flags Fly Forever, right? I just want a piece of the mania. I think at the very least I'm getting Darvish 2.0 (TJ year included?)
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Ok, Dinger wins the Ohtani sweepstakes. Brent Honeywell + Estevan Florial + Scott Kingery + MiLB 7 for Shohei Ohtani + MiLB 22 Dinger to confirm Love that for you. Surprised Dinger would even do that, he seemed high on Honeywell but maybe that was just because he owned him here lol.

TJ isn't imminent, I read an article about how a DR. said it's likely that 70% of pitchers have UCL damage, in reference to Tanaka, I think I linked it to BTS a while back. Edit: Oh and can last a career, all depends.

I am very high on Honeywell, I just think Ohtani's ceiling is even higher as a pitcher and I'm interested in rolling the dice on his bat. And while I'm high on Honeywell, I personally feel now might be a good time to sell on Kingery (ISO ?) and Florial (Ks ?). I do think I may have overpaid when we re-visit this in a couple years but that's okay with me, fantasy is about having fun and Ohtani seems like he's going to be really interesting to own. Pretty stoked to have a Sale-Ohtani-Syndergaard rotation.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Also, a perhaps under-appreciated aspect of this trade is that it actually frees up two pre-cut roster spots for me.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 So Tim Tebow is safe? lulz... he isn't a MLB guy is he?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 As a pitcher, I'd say maybe 30%. Combined with the chance Ohtani can hit tho, lower than that. I do love Honeywell though, I'll have to try to reacquire him elsewhere. I’m not expecting Ohtani to be a relevant bat in 20 team leagues. I don’t see how you can roster a guy who plays 2-3 days a week.

At least he can leave the bat in the minors until we know.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 So Tim Tebow is safe? I really had high hopes for that troll and I got nothin.

On that asset alone, if he makes contact, you're good.

His bat is/was graded 4th among OF'ers, I'd take that, and this is only from all INTL' scouts. I know, lets wait and see.

I don't think I have a read on his bat. He could be anything. The level he has to hit to be 20-team relevant is very high though. Yoenis Cespedes went 292/352/540 with 17 homers (131 wRC+) in 321 PA and wasn't a top-500 player in out format.

He was def Top 500 on a per PA basis tho
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 He was def Top 500 on a per PA basis tho Out league doesn't really value players who put up big numbers in 200-300 PAs though.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 If anyone who missed out on Othani is still looking for a SP I'll dangle one of Kershaw/Strasburg/Kluber. Also looking for an elite hitter.. doesn't have to be the same trade as above. Most of my prospects are available but I'm really high on Senzel so he'd be tough to move.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 My Pedroia auction concluded with zero bids. Next up: Anthony Swarzak
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I'll give you Warmoth for Pedroia & Swarzak. I'm looking to pick up some end of roster filler since I only have like 18 good keepers at the moment.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I’ll accept Warmoth for Pedroia and Swarzak at 5 PM ET today if nobody beats that offer. I don’t love Warmoth, so make an offer. IIRC Swarzak was a top-40 player last year. He’s really good!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Garrett Cooper is a non-prospect.
