HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Hopefully Zobrist won't get that much because it will be used as a direct comparison in Bautista contract talks. I can understand offering Zobrist a lot more money than usual, considering his versatlity and production with the bat. However, $20m is an absurd amount.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 ok so apparently Bob Nightengale is a joke now
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 ok so apparently Bob Nightengale is a joke now Why would the Cubs even dream of doing that? Just lol. Arrieta Lester Lackey Hammel Hendricks Shelby wouldn't even crack their rotation.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Nightengale is usually reliable :/
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 WHAT HAPPENED TO BoB!? He's a clown now. (that was last year, obvs)

fireballW Verified Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Don't really know if Texas needs outfielder, but I would love it if we could make a deal for Fielder. Would they want Pompey so they could put Hamilton at DH? 90 million over 4 years would be nice. We'd have a massive year and then have someone locked up to replace EE. See if we could even get them to eat some of the money.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 @Ken_Rosenthal : Sources: #Cubs talking to #Yankees about trade that would send Starlin Castro to NYY, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. Why do the Yankees hate Refsnyder?
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Not sure how I'd feel about a move like that... Yanks would have to give up something significant and the Cubs ain't no fool.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 They know he has no future I traded him, so your shot falls flat.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Castro isn't bueno at béisbol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I traded him, so your shot falls flat. It also makes it invalid cause anyone you trade will surely break out

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs 3m3 minutes ago Theo says the Cubs are getting closer to a deal. They are trying to sync up a trade and FA. That sounds like Zobrist/Castro move, IMO
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Pedro Gomez @pedrogomezESPN 2m2 minutes ago Source: @Dbacks pretty close to signing Mike Leake. As another exec told me, you can't sign Greinke and stop there. If you're in, you're IN.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I want Pat Venditte in our bullpen this year. I think his unique talent would be beneficial and the cost would be minimal.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Braves get Tyler Flowers on a nice deal. Between 5.3 and 8.3M over two years. Why the hell did the Sox non-tender this guy? He's better than Navarro and Avila, and no more expensive.
