Chapman has only 1 year left though.

 

Osuna had 1.3 WAR in 69 innings and Kimbrel had 1.5 WAR in 59 innings. Quite a price to pay for a marginal difference between the two.

Wow, didn't realize Kimbrel fell off last season. Still very good, but not up to par with the 2-3.5 win seasons he was having with the Braves. Projected 1.3 WAR next season. I was expecting the Red Sox to get Kimbrel+. If it's just Kimbrel, then that lessens it.

Yep. Watch Kimbrel fall off a cliff in Boston, just like every reliever Dombrowski acquires. I mean, he was declining last season.. and giving up 4 decent prospects isn't exactly smart. This has a chance of being a repeat of the Reddick/Bailey trade..

Yeah don't understand why they didn't just ride Uehara for one more season and worry about finding a closer after that.
