BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Lind also had a string of mediocre seasons before his 2014 to really lower his value, and Belo's splits are pretty even. I'd say they are very close to the same value at these points in time. You could be correct though! The flip side of that was that Adam Lind carried a finanical commitment. It's apples to oranges really. Fair comment on apples to oranges. I think its pretty safe to say with Lind you know what you are getting against RHP (including higher cost) and with Belo its pretty much a flyer, even with better splits last year.

IMO Colabello is pretty much worthless on the market. 32-year old 1B with a 110 wRC+ who can't run and is below average defensively.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Bello and Lind is a ridiculous comparison. Like I said before, the most Bello returns in a trade is a middling reliever. He's not the first one to have a Cinderella season and other teams know.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Pillar putting up 15 fWAR over the next 5 years is such a longshot that it's basically not even considerable. The highest OF fWAR over the last 5 years with a sub-100 wRC+ is Bourn at 12.1, and then it's Parra at 9.1. Very little chance his defense remains elite through age-31. I'd tend to agree but even as a 75$ asset I can't see someone offering a trade for him.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
