RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Thank God Thank you sir, All will be well, and we will be right back in October baseball this time next year.
venema20 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Oh how I wish they had D'Arnaud instead of Martin. Probably the most disappointed I have been in a Jays player in a long time. Terrible game calling, subpar defense, and his bat was ice cold in the playoffs.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Most interested in SP and LF. I'd bring back Saunders and have Pompey as depth for all 3 OF positions. Probably trade Revere or just non tender him.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Pompey definitely needs a second chance to start the season, he proved almost as valuable as Revere just coming in from the bench to steal. Would be nice to see if anyone wants Revere for something reasonable. I think Pillar is underrated league-wide so it would not be wise to trade him, though he's likely more of a 2-3 win player going forward. Bautista needs to start the transition to 1B ASAP.
Shogun89 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Price is a journeyman loyal only to the money. Wouldn't expect to see him back here next year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 They don't need much. Maybe one reliever, a backup catcher if Thole is let go, and two starters. And they probably have like $20M to get it with.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Playoffs proved you can't rely on the offense and need pitching to win. Wish AA hadn't traded all of our young arms away. False.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Any word on payroll According to Rogers Q3 results, Rogers Media's profits increased by more than $30M over last year, attributed to the Jays. That doesn't include actual playoffs profit which would be in Q4. At the very least Rogers made off with $100M - $150M from this playoff run.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Saunders and Thole non-tendered?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Didn't even wait until the morning to do this? I admire your dedication.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I would be disappointed if Revere is not traded. Likely/hopefully for a Pen arm. If the Jays can sign Barney or Penny then would also expect Goins to be traded. I think this team has assets to make moves to fill holes in potentially SP and RP.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Didn't even wait until the morning to do this? I admire your dedication. It's been ready in an excel sheet since they were 0-2 to Texas.

I'd have to think we'll see a payroll bump though.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Saunders and Thole non-tendered? Likely and resign back a'la. Neither have much value and if you can get them around league minimum, then they could potentially be something (more so Saunders than Thole..) if not, no love lost.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Probably not that high from the playoff run. I'd have to think we'll see a payroll bump though. I'd imagine easily that high. 11 television events, 6 home games. How could that not raise $100 Million, even if you exclude all indirect streams.
admin Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I know no one wants to hear it, but god, this team with TDA and Thor, and no Martin or Dickey contract, we'd have some room to do some nice things.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I Think the one consensus you would find here is that Osuna should be starting next season.
baubau Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I would also bring Dickey back, unless the team felt 100% confident that $13M could go towards Shark or Zimmer. He is good enough for 200 IP and this team can provide enough offense to win behind him. That being said, this team should have more SP depth next season where he should not be in the post season roster. His Royals game shell shocked my expectations.

I dont think you get to the playoffs without Martin. He was the first building block of the change.

Why do you prefer those two over Goins?

When will this s*** end? We would be a lot worse without Josh Donaldson. Get over it.

admin Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 When will this s*** end? We would be a lot worse without Josh Donaldson. Get over it. Probably never. Not sure what donaldson has to do with it.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Probably never. Not sure what donaldson has to do with it. Sure you do.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Why are people talking about trading Goins, Even if Travis is the starter, Goins is the perfect guy to backup both Short and second. He can step in at any time and give you stellar D. Nothing wrong with Goins being on the team. Same with Pillar. If Pompey is able to steal the Job, he can, but there is nothing wrong with having Pillar on the team. If there is one guy I would trade, its Sanchez. He is overrated even as a reliever and that showed throughout the series.
admin Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Sure you do. Donaldson was a smart trade at the time. Dickey trade was not. Guess you didn't see it that way.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Sure you do. Could you imagine if the Jays didn't trade perennial All-Star Robinson Diaz for that journeyman from Pittsburgh? Oh how things could have been.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Donaldson was a smart trade at the time. Dickey trade was not. Guess you didn't see it that way. The Donaldson trade wasn't smart...for the Athletics.
