Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Glad to see I'm not the only person who can't stand Reynolds. The man makes me long for the Joe Morgan era. Canadian media was tearing him to shreads.

Hard to imagine anyone making Joe Morgan sound smart, but with no effort and undeniable incompetence Reynolds has accomplished the feat.

EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) A nice feel good win which I feel will turn the tide of the series around big time. First of all, gotta thank Delino Deshields Jr. for being a horrible defensive CF, we totally exposed his weakness in D today lol. Other thoughts: - Estrada had a huge game and was on one of his dominant streaks we saw quite often throughout the season. Thankfully managed to escape one of those "can't throw a strike" innings that he often gets into once a game. Good call by Gibby to hook at the first signs of trouble. - Sanchez has been impressive on all his outings thus far in the post season, he has stepped up big time. Osuna got hit hard three times there so there was a bit to be concerned about there, but at least he went out there to throw strikes and not mess around since he had a 4 run lead I guess. - FINALLY. Tulo. If we can somehow manage to come back and win the series now, that will rank up there with Robbie's and Sprague's HRs. - Much, MUCH better job with the approach at the plate tonight. That's how we usually do it. I really have to wonder now if it was indeed the pressure of being favourites/starting out at home and being too ramped up that messed our discipline up in the first two games. Of course grounding into 4 DPs sucked but at least we threatened in more than half the innings today overall. Keep pressure on their pitchers the same was and eventually they'll bend then crack. - Hope Dickey has an Estrada type of day tomorrow, but if not, we need to have a very short leash on him and use Price at any point it seems like it'll get away for more than two runs. We get another game and I couldn't be any happier. This was not a team that was gonna get swept, we were never going to go out meekly like that. Even if we end up losing the series we've at least created one good memory of it so I'll be more at ease with it. But of course, let's win again and bring this back to the 6. Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Gibby sounds like a fool right now. Using Stroman tomorrow in the BP is so stupid. Seems like a good move to me. If Dickey struggles early, we'll need Stroman to come in and pitch a couple of innings. Price is slated for game 5, and if Stroman comes in for relief tomorrow, then he could still be ready start game 1 of the ALCS if we make it. Its like you guys purposely try to hate everything Gibby says. No he's not the smartest manager, but he's also not close to being bottom 10 in baseball.
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 All Blue Jays fans will go to bed happy and will get to see at least one more game tomorrow. Thank you Blue Jays.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Other managers sucking too doesn't make Gibbons any less of a dunce. No, but it sure puts things into perspective when other playoff managers mismanage games in ways that Gibby would never dream of doing. Letting Perez start the 6th inning against Donaldso, Bautista, and Edwin, and then bringing in Chi-Chi, and then having him pitch to Tulo 3-1 with 1B open, 2 out, runners on 2nd and 3rd, and Navarro on deck.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Jays Win Rummy Rum for Runs Sunday was a success! I am Happy, we are Happy com'on get Happy!!! Lol Well f*** this I am off to watch " Blazing Saddles"

So in a do or die game you don't want our best possible option pitching if absolutely needed? Weird. Great management by Gibby tonight, get Price up to throw his usual side session between starts and he's ready in case things get dicey in a must-win game. Same will happen with Stro tomorrow (and rightfully so)
