I am a new member, and a hardcore Blue Jays fan, and am a recording artist. I was aware of the anthem singer due to my connections with ACTRA, and other organizations that support talented Canadian artists, such as myself. While, I do not consider myself in Alanis' league, I realize that my music and contributions to society, make a significant impact on people's days, and routines.

 

As a comparison, I would consider either Bif Naked, or Jan Arden, my Canadian equal. That said, I don't want to be compared to Jan Arden from a physical perspective.

I realize that supporting the arts is challenging for many. Being a Canadian, and a proud one, I feel that the importance of the anthem is critical to team success.

While, I'm not glad that Michael Burgess died, I feel his passing was a blessing in disguise, as he was not a baseball fan and had bad breath, so, I am glad he won't be singing this year.
