THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 For those interested, Simeon Woods-Richardson is starting against the Puerto Rican team in the Olympic qualifier today. Free to watch and good quality: Through 1 and a third with no runs so far. What was his final line?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 What was his final line? Game was rained out, but 5Ks, 1 R in 4IP for SWR
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Game was rained out, but 5Ks, 1 R in 4IP for SWR Looking like a good effort, too bad it was stopped. Thanks for posting!
Ray Verified Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Nick Frasso was touching 97 mph with his sinker coupled with a 72 mph curve. The curve has 64 inches of vertical drop. Could be something.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Looks like they/he changed his stance prior to the pitch, although his load once he gets into hitting position is identical to what it was before.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 He cut his hair AND he's wearing the double flap helmet? Never would have recognized him...
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 This isn’t Jays prospects related, but have Tyler Zombro and the Rays minor league organization in your thoughts tonight. One of the worst line drive comebacker incidents I’ve ever seen in the Durham/Norfolk game and quite possibly the worst. Right off the head and went face first into the mound, then went into convulsions for several minutes.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Important to note that "stable condition" doesn't mean out of the woods. Hoping and praying he survives this and makes a complete recovery. What an awful situation.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Holy f*** that was brutal. That looked like someone dying. https://www.wralsportsfan.com/bulls-pitcher-hospitalized-after-being-struck-in-head-by-line-drive/19710051/ Don't watch this if you're at all squeamish.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 Damn that was scary. Hope the kid will be OK and makes a complete recovery.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Adams went 2 for 2 with a walk in game 1 today and two home runs for the Bisons. He's got his OPS up to 0.914 at AAA Also, Kevin Smith has quietly and steadily gotten his OPS up to 0.864 down there. Not too shabby.

ShowtimeBelli Verified Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Wasn't shelled at all. Was a much better performance Didn't watch so I can't really argue. 4IP, 3h, 5er, 2bb, 8k The 8 punchouts are cool I guess

The Ks are great but he definitely isn't looking like a guy that would come up and look unhittable. Most of this is his command. Hopefully people are working with him on fixing his delivery so everything is towards the plate instead of off to 1B side.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Didn't watch so I can't really argue. 4IP, 3h, 5er, 2bb, 8k The 8 punchouts are cool I guess From the game day it looks like First inning went quick with 3 balls in play for outs. 10 pitches 3 balls 2nd innings was the trouble. - 4 pitch walk only 1 close pitch - K on 5 pitches, only 1 ball not close to the zone (wild pitch) - double on 5 pitches. 3 look pretty much over the middle of the plate - HR on 2 pitches. Both over the middle essentially - K on 3 pitches down in the zone - Walk on 4 pitches 3 on the corner - HBP on 8 pitches. 5 of the first 6 were down in the zone then went high - K on 4 pitches up in the zone and on the corner 3rd inning looks to be top form. - K on 5 pitches all on the outside or inside part of the plate - ground out on 2 pitches top of the zone - K on 4 pitches all on the corner or top of the zone So 11 pitches 2 Ks and 0 balls 4th inning looks really great as well. Struck out all 3 on 16 pitches. 5 balls and only 2 weren't close to strikes 5th inning has a 7 pitch single on a pop up and a 2 pitch HBP. He left and the RP allowed the runs on a flyball, wild pitch, and homerun. So 82 pitches and 55 strikes. With a lot of the balls close to the zone or on the corner. Not a lot of crazy wild balls. Most pitches he has pitched i think since going back down. Can't tell the pitch types though
John Balkabella Verified Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Is Riley Adams playing himself into a more useful trade chip? Nice couple of days. With the Jays “depth” at catcher, I wonder if he and another B prospect or two could bring in some much needed relief help?
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Is there any chance we see a Kirk/Moreno catching tandem on the Jays before the season is over? Or is that just not a very likely scenario? The way Moreno is hitting you'd like to see him get the call to AAA at least, but they've got Riley Adams already there with his .900+ OPS and 142 wRC+ You also have to wonder if Adams gets the call to the Jays soon they way he's been hitting. Good problem to have.

Good problem to have. I can't see the team going with two rookie catchers, there's simply too much a learning curve for that be a realistic option. I think that one of Jansen/McGuire is safe for the duration of the season.

Good problem to have. Adams being in AAA won't block a Moreno promotion, management will find playing time for both. I'd also like to see Otto Lopez promoted to AAA at the same time, hopefully by the end of June. I think Shatkins needs to see what he has with these two as possible big league roster players next year. As far as trade chips go, don't rule out Biggio as being one.

What's the deal with Dasan Brown. Is he injured? He's not playing anywhere right now. I figured he'd be in low A dunedin this year. Anyone know anything?
