Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 For age 20, 21, 22? Would be happy with @9 fWAR Soto has 2.6 WAR in roughly half a 1st season, and Vlad is every bit as good as Soto at the plate, but with more power Realistic WAR numbers for Vlad are 4, 5, 6 WAR in his first 3 seasons = 15
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 In his first 3 full years what do you guys think a conservative projection would be for Vlad in terms of WAR. Somewhere between 6 and 9 fWAR, depending on how bad his defense is. He could certainly end up blowing it out of the water though, and no one would be surprised.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Vlad with another HR, opposite field, and 4 games in a row.
flafson Verified Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 He looks like he had a butt lift.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 The homer went off the right fielder's glove and out. Wonder if it would've cleared the fence had he not touched it. Either way, I'll take it.

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Sounds like Jansen may be getting called up, wonder if Martin goes to 3B after Solarte got hurt.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Vlad with another HR, opposite field, and 4 games in a row. He now as more HRs than Ks at AAA so far
CBlake Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 No doubt a September callup is in the cards, no way the Jays can not do it, creating some buzz for some otherwise meaningless games to close out the season. It will sell tickets big time, sure the Rogers board will love it.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Vlad's OBP dropped yesterday. Slumping. A slump for Vlad is when he OPS's .800

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Good - Smith, Biggio Bad - Warmoth, Alford I'm really impressed with Smith. Florida State League is historically a very difficult league to hit in... And he's doing very well there.
Blaine Bullard Dunedin Blue Jays - A OF In Thursday's doubleheader, the 19-year-old went 5-for-8. He was 3-for-5 with two doubles in the first game and 2-for-3 in the second game. Explore Blaine Bullard News >
