King Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Brad Mills could strike out a batter an inning in the minors too. And on the other hand Sanchez could not. Stuff and results don't always mesh in the minors Brad Mills and JDL are opposites, though. Mills was a pitchabilty lefty, who could not strike out over a batter per inning at the upper levels of the minors. http://i.imgur.com/WruU428.png JDL has posted strikeouts rates of 12 K/9 ++ throughout the upper levels of the minors with a mid 90s fastball and nasty changeup.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Mitch McKown was a disaster today (and every other appearance he's made) Pitching Change: Mitch McKown replaces Juan Meza. Defensive Substitution: Manuel Herazo replaces catcher Owen Spiwak, batting 8th, playing catcher. Mickey Moniak walks. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 2nd. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 3rd. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak scores. Aaron Altherr walks. Jhailyn Ortiz walks. Aaron Altherr to 2nd. Pitching Change: Orlando Pascual replaces Mitch McKown. Chris King @StatsKing 6m6 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman hard to believe, but it was way worse than that box score shows. Seriously Chris King @StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman he bounced 4 pitches about 50 ft then another 5 pitches went over the batters heads and into the backstop Chris King @StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman I wouldn't have let Altherr hit against him. He came close to taking 1 to the head. Ortiz was taking 2 steps back at release

I was speaking in general terms. There are guys with generally s*** stuff that could strike batters out...and there are guys with great stuff (Sanchez) that have trouble getting the K. As for JDL. Not as familiar with him...I focus more on Jays prospects so I don't know if Law is full of s*** or not (I'm assuming he is)...just that you can't always look at K numbers to determine stuff.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Bryan: Rowdy Tellez is tearing up AA of late as a 21 year old. Can he possibly become a league average 1b/DH in MLB? I believe I recall you saying he has a “long swing”–will that prevent him from reaching the big leagues? Klaw: No. Can’t hit quality pitching. Once again, How do you put up a 150 wRC+ in AA without being able to hit quality pitching? Holy f***! Ask him if he still thinks Travis is a minor league player.
