Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Jays Cubs would be an awesome WS Arrieta x2 = we're screwed
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Melky, what the f*** was that? That was probably closer to the moon than it was to the strike zone (or right in Angel Hernandez's strike zone).
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I would love that scenario actually. We would face him on extremely short rest twice which would be extremely ideal and potentially dangerous for Tanaka. At this point, Girardi may need to consider that.. his options are limited. Sabathia's a question mark, Pineda, as you saw tonight, has effectiveness issues, Eovalldi's hurt, and Warren isn't really a strong option. And of course, there's Severino.. but they can only use him for least one start in the ALDS at least due to innings limitations due to his young age. And it will all depend what Tanaka does tomorrow.. his hamstring issue is a concern.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Skipping class tomorrow. GO BLUE BIRDS! Clinch this thing!

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Angels up 2-0 on the A's. Very important game.. especially considering they're chasing both the Rangers (up 7-6 on the Tigers) and the Astros (currently tied at 1 vs. the Mariners.) If the Angels sweep the A's, it makes the Rangers/Angels series VERY important, as it could be a fight for the division. Of course, the D-Backs will also have something to say about it, as they play Houston on the weekend.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Damn good thing that my manager is a Jays fan, I'll get to watch the first part of game 1 from goatd... His rule is "as long as nobody that out ranks me sees you watching, you're good"
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Joba the Hutt in for KC.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Royals are losing on purpose. f*** that team
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Seriously, even though he got out of that, why is Joba the Hutt pitching for KC in the 8th inning of a 1 run ga... oh, wait, I almost forgot. http://www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Colorado%2BRockies%2Bv%2BMilwaukee%2BBrewers%2B3p6eAe7NJnZl.jpg
ComeTogether Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Looks like Jays on their way to AL title.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Jays Cubs would be an awesome WS Sexy, but I would take any team but the Pirates. Not that the Pirates are scary, but the other three just have better ballparks
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Wat? PNC is one of the league's best parks.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 No history, no nostalgia and terrible on TV. That's fair, I personally love it. History needs to start somewhere though!

This Board would come unglued if Joba was our option in that situation lol
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 That's fair, I personally love it. History needs to start somewhere though! It's a great modern stadium to visit personally (saw the Cards there) but I stand by the other statement. If we play any of those teams, I guess we can agree we will all be happy.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 How does Tanaka pitching one WC game mean he is done for the division series lmfao WC game is on Oct 6 he can back on full rest and pitch on Oct 11 game 3 in Yankee stadium and still be available to pitch in game 5 a bit.
art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 If the 'stros and Angels win tonight, they'll be 2 games back on the Yanks on the WC. Last time I checked, Yanks had something like a 4/5 game lead. I didn't know it was this close...
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 So if they Jays clinch by early evening tomorrow, plenty of time to get wasted as f*** and still be "sort of" ok Thursday.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I genuinely think that if the Astros play the Yanks in the WC game, the Astros will win and it'll be us vs the Astros.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Were also assuming hes healthy and going to be extremely effective in the wild card game. Either way its not like we should be afraid of facing him. We have David f***ing Price. True. But Tanaka has completely fooled everyone in the lineup twice now. It feels like guys who don't give in to the fastball give the Jays problems. Teheran was throwing lots of off speed stuff IIRC, same with Gallardo for those 2 starts. Obviously being a good pitcher (like Tanaka and Teheran can be) helps too though... The Yankees are probably the second best team in the AL, and certainly have the best starting staff out of all the playoff teams (Cleveland not included). That would be a very entertaining but potentially difficult series.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Third times a charm. Bring it on! Sorry, I'm biased... one of the most fun pitchers to watch IMO. I'm not down on the Jays, they have the best team in the MLB and should be the world series favourites.
