I took a stroll down to the Jays shop to buy some postseason gear and I've never seen lineups that long, that early for a giveaway. At 9:45 it was lined up all the way past the aquarium and out in front of the convention center. If you were planning on trying to get there early for the giveaway and haven't left yet, I probably wouldn't bother at this stage.

lol how does the city even function on weekends when these major highways close.

It doesn't.

Last week i went to see the Boston game, subway was closed between Lawrence and Bloor. They had a huge lineup of shuttle buses going from those two points, it got to the point where cops stopped normal car traffic to let the shuttle buses through.

Probably made the trip 30-40 min longer.

The hoodies don't look that good anyways. Even the jerseys looked cheap from what I saw (names & numbers printed on rather than stitched/ironed on). Wouldn't have me lining up at 9 AM.

TTC better not close service when there is a Jays postseason game on a weekend.

The public transit in Toronto is a complete joke...

Its probably one of the worst in the world for a major metropolitan city. The MTA in NYC blows the TTC away. Subway takes you everywhere. Its so easy to get up to Yankees or Mets games with express trains (less than 20 mins from Grand Central). Even after the games are finished, they have extra express trains lined up to move people out of there. Think the TTC would ever think of something like that?

Its a terrible system run by incompetent people.

I had bought my ticket for this game months ago when I saw the giveaway, but recently I was like eh do I want a hoodie that 20,000 other people are going to have? Especially when every giveaway is a f***ing XL. But then last night I figured since I'm already going, I'll go a bit earlier than usual. Nothing too crazy. Got here shortly after 10:00, was lined up at Blue Jays Way and Front, got a hoodie and was in my seat by 11:30. So it really wasn't that bad. The hoodie itself is alright. 50/50 cotton/poly if that's of any interest to anyone... As always, though, it's huge.

Arrived at Gate 11 at 10:45. Got my hoodie, and there were lots of boxes left. Got to catch the tail-end of the Jays batting practice.

I really hate that all giveaways have to be XL, I know cost issues would force upon everything to be a one size fits all solutions but I'd think that a size L would be a better solution instead of XL. That Donaldson jersey looks so baggy on me it basically sits as a decoration at my house.

Definitely one of, if not THE WORST public transit in a major metropolitan city on earth. Seriously, even Athens has a MUCH nicer subway system. London, NY, etc all have like 10-20 subway lines while Toronto has.... 2

The t-shirt giveaway from 2006 was definitely a large (I still have it, so I'm positive), but I guess somewhere along the way they switched to XL. I know they'll never do it, but I've always kind of hoped they'd have boxes of various sizes and you're just out of luck once the size you want runs out. Of course that would also slow things down a lot more...
