TRM Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I don't mean this question to invoke hyperbole. I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning. The question is quite simple: has there been a more crucial game in the past 20 years than this.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 every game is important.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Did we have an important game in 94'? nope
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Game 4 1993 WS was the last most meaningful game for the Jays. 15-14 win over the Phillies after their starter got shelled early. That teams starting pitching was mediocre. It was offense that got the ring.

TRM Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Did we have an important game in 94'? I meant since the end of 93, ie. the beginning of 94. Do you enjoy being a pedantic *******.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Agree. Game 5 and 6 were meaningless. LOL...you are such a smartass sometimes. To me game 4 turned the tide of the series. Schilling pitched a great game to a W in game 5 but we had the upper hand from Game 4 on.

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 The way I see it is the Yankees have more to lose this game than us. We're leading the East by at least 1.5 games tonight either way, winning game #1 of the series was perhaps even more important to maintaining our lead by preventing a sweep.

It being a meaningful is established before the game is even played. To me, those are different things.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Well, Yankees have plenty of motivation now
SAAviour Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 After tonight we'll be either 1.5 up or 3.5 up with 10 games to play. Tonight is HUGE! I could barely handle watching last nights game, and during it thought....what if this was a wild card game. Please, please, please, no wild card game! I will die!

The wild card game would have been Monday when Price mowed them down.

Im way too invested in this. I was exhausted last night. Thought about the game lots and still am.(what if Edwin doesn't chase that Betances slider? etc etc) It was intense. Cant wait for tonite lol The pennant race is like a heroin addition...you know its killing you but you still want more!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 It's an extremely important game, obviously, and yes the most important in 20 years. And yet, still not a must-win. We are going to be in first place tomorrow no matter what happens.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I was at the game last night I'm just totally wiped today... such an emotional rollercoaster.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I was at the game last night I'm just totally wiped today... such an emotional rollercoaster. How loud did it really feel? It sounded rockin' on the TV late in the game.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Both teams have exactly the same thing on the line, in terms of the resultant change in divisional and World Series probability. I meant the Yankees practically have to win to keep pace with us which is why they have more on the line, we walk away from this series leading the division regardless.
TRM Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 I was at the game last night I'm just totally wiped today... such an emotional rollercoaster. Me too. I barely have my voice today. And I'm going tonight...!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Do you think this is what Stro Show wanted when he told everyone he was coming back for September. I am pumped we have waited for games like this.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 How loud did it really feel? It sounded rockin' on the TV late in the game. It was the loudest, craziest baseball game I've ever been to. The floor was literally shaking.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Me too. I barely have my voice today. And I'm going tonight...! I'm going Saturday and Sunday, I won't make it into work tomorrow if I go tonight haha.

Lil Looper Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yes it probably is, just on the fact that we havent truly been in a hunt this important since then. Expect another 5 of these threads until the season is over

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 stro's already going to pitch more meaningful games for the jays than roy halladay after tonight(maybe even before tonight). makes me sad thinking about it.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 It probably is the most important game in 20 years and I'm nervous as hell.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
