The question is quite simple: has there been a more crucial game in the past 20 years than this.

The way I see it is the Yankees have more to lose this game than us. We're leading the East by at least 1.5 games tonight either way, winning game #1 of the series was perhaps even more important to maintaining our lead by preventing a sweep.

Both teams have exactly the same thing on the line, in terms of the resultant change in divisional and World Series probability.

 

I meant the Yankees practically have to win to keep pace with us which is why they have more on the line, we walk away from this series leading the division regardless.
