Followthelight Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I agree with Zaun, that was a bad pitch to bird.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Hate how the Yankees always have these f***ing nobodies that come up and fill in for their injured stars. Tex being replaced by Bird gave them almost no drop-off. How is Bird a nobody? Matt Hague is a nobody. Greg Bird is a purebred stallion.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Well that sucked. We really need to fix this bullpen in the off-season.However we still are up 2.5 and we got Stroman on the mound. Donaldson can't slump forever. We gotta get it. So huge. Really? This bullpen was excellent for most of the season. Really slumping now though. Its still a great bullpen

The BP isn't perfect but it's not terrible. Guys, seriously, this is what playoff baseball is. All bets off, and who survives? This is not the Jays against the f***ing Twins on a lethargic Sunday.

Greg Bird is one of the Yanks top position player prospects, and considering how he dominated AAA, it's no surprise he is off to a strong start in the majors. So zip it.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Need to win tomorrow.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yeah who is this nobody we have starting tomorrow anyway?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I would love nothing more than to see Nova shelled tomorrow. Please make it happen. Can't fall to 1.5
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Had some golden opportunities..but it is what it is hope stro comes through as well as the O (esp JD)
Followthelight Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 KC lost, what a missed opportunity.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Good chance tomorrow. Nova has been terrible most of the 2nd half, and facing Stroman.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Can we not pitch to Beltran anymore in meaningful situations? He always comes through.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 can't wait to read this board when they blow a game in the playoffs
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Mark Lowe has actually struggled vs LHB. Seems he uses the slider away a little too frequently.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Seems like the offense has kinda tailed since Tulo got hurt...dunno if that's actually the case but it just feels that way.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 can't wait to read this board when they blow a game in the playoffs Half the board will have leapt off a building once an opposing team gets two base runners on in a single inning.

Zaun has called this out several times now...Most LHB are good low ball hitters, if that slider catches a lot of the plate it often gets hit hard to lefties.
Soft Hands Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 oh well go get them tomorrow
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 at least sanchez wasn't the one blowing this game. I'm happy. edit: actually, if this means gibby will go back to sanchez then shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Man, we really need another loogy.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Seems like the offense has kinda tailed since Tulo got hurt...dunno if that's actually the case but it just feels that way. Yeah, even with his struggles, it's like the fire got snuffed out when he went down.

Nope, they're still hitting. (.276/.355/.448, not including tonight in the last 7 days). They're still hitting... just not with RISP. And can we please stop pitching to Greg Bird? 10 HRs now.. projected to a full season of ABs, he's got 40 HR power!

nextyear Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 It would have been great to see the Blue Jays come through in the 8th or 9th with a big hit (they did get the Navarro home run though), but still there were quite a few big plays by the Blue Jays on defense and offense. One positive point for the Blue Jays is that the Yankees had to use two of their best relievers in the win. Certainly Miller won't be pitching tomorrow. In any case, hopefully the Blue Jays will have a big lead going into the late innings tomorrow so it will be a moot point anyway.
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Can't stand watching games on ESPN, all i had to hear was how great the Yankees bullpen is
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Can't stand watching games on ESPN, all i had to hear was how great the Yankees bullpen is And yet Miller gives up two home runs and Betances was hanging on by a thread in the eighth. Would be nice if Smoak hadn't put up two horrendous at bats against Miller.
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Hilarious hearing how they made great pitches to get out of jams, THEY PUT THEMSELVES INTO JAMS! i need to just spend the money for Mlb.tv
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Donaldson being ice cold is our biggest problem right now. Hope it ends soon.
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 They need to sweep Tampa, not confident in White Sox
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
