jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Harvey/Sabathia later. Still a reasonable shot the Jays will stay at 3.5 out, especially if Sabathia is garbage. And BTW, the Yanks rotation for the series: Warren, Severino, and either Tanaka or Pineda.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Everything was going great until Jays4lyfe19 started screwing with our momentum. f*** that guy. I don't know why you keep spelling life wrong.

And BTW, the Yanks rotation for the series: Warren, Severino, and either Tanaka or Pineda. The first game of the series is really going to dictate the result of the series IMO. With it being Warren vs Price this is a game we just can't afford to drop. Not sure if we can rock Severino for a second straight start but with Estrada going that one should be tight... Not expecting much out of the finale if it's Tanaka, I have a feeling he's going to continue to play with our hitter's heads' as he has done in his past two starts.

Of course, if the Yanks lose the first two of the series and tonight's game, Tanaka could be pushed back if the Yanks have no shot at the division.

Wolf Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Can we play Smoak regularly at 1B now? Red Sox scored their first run today because of a sloppy play by Colabello. That would've been an easy double play for Smoak.

Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Harvey is on an extreme innings/pitch count limit. Will lucky to go three innings. 75 pitches per Hayman. So probably 4-5 innings.

That would've been an easy double play for Smoak. Truthfully Smoak hasn't been all that sharp in the defensive side lately either. As a matter of fact it seems as if the entire team has kind of lost their defensive focus a bit. Even Goins and Pennington are making some uncharacteristic miscues as of late... A team meeting at this point would probably be overboard but I hope the guys can pick each other up somehow and regain their confidence and focus. A good sign is that they've showed up to play the Yankees tough thus far all year for the most part, I just hope this will be the case once again.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 You should be beaten. reported.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I don't even want to watch the Yanks game today. I'll just check the score. I'm so rattled right now I don't want to see any baseball
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Report to my fist. lol i love you.
ComeTogether Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Most important series next three games. Should be fun.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Jays magic number is going to be 5, as the Twins are destroying the Angels right now.

Wolf Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 No way Yanks are losing tonight's game. They know what's at stake. And Harvey i believe is in a pitch count.

EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I don't think Mets offence will get shut down for a second straight day, but that Harvey situation is so uncertain that I don't think they'll be able to completely quiet down the Yanks bats either. Expecting a pretty close mid-high scoring game tonight.
Wolf Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Looking forward to the Yanks series. Tomorrow's game is a must win game. If the Jays lose tomorrow they could get swept. Game 3 is pretty much an automatic loss w/ Tanaka pitching. He owns the Jays. And i don't like the Estrada/Severino matchup.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Jays really need to change their approach for the Tanaka game. HE THROWS A s*** TON OF OFF SPEED JUNK!
venema20 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I really think the Tulp effect is really hurting the Jays. Since going down last Sunday, the Jays have been playing pretty bad baseball. Very sloppy defensively and seems like they don't have as much confidence. It seems to have hurt team morale. Not having Goins at second has hurt the team quite a bit on D. And the lineup just doesn't have the same look. Just my opinion
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 We need to start playing like the best team in baseball instead of how we played before the Allstar break

Just my opinion Defensively I don't think it has hurt us overly much, I think Pennington has been fine for the most part defensively and I think the team as a whole just lost their defensive focus today, not just the middle two. Offensively though I do think we miss Tulo's presence a lot, especially in light of how horrendous Pennington has been batting Right handed/weakening of the bottom of the order with him in every day. JD is slowing down noticeably as of late and Tulo would have been the guy with the most potential to pick up that slack right now.

But the last few games, he looks like Reyes out there. With Tulo in the game today, the Jays win it because they turn that doubleplay where Penny threw wide. And obviously offensively it is a huge downgrade. But I also think team morale and team confidence took a hit. Look at the way the team was playing after the trades, and now look. Tulo goes down and the team is just missing that extra little bit to push them over the top right now.
Wolf Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 So Joe Girardi just announced Nova will start Wed in Toronto. Tanaka apparently has a grade 1 hamstring strain.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'd really be in favour of Barney getting some starts now at 2B. Pennington's a fine utility man but not a consistent everyday player calibre guy IMO, at most maybe a platoon. But Gibbons seems very adamant about playing Pennington as an everyday guy right now, probably with post season in consideration (in which Barney can't play). I get that, but IMO with nothing decided yet that's looking too far ahead.
