If you have an Android phone or tablet, Chromecast works really well for MLB.tv and is only $40. If not, a streaming box like a Roku or Apple TV will do the trick. All of those devices use HDMI.

 

Yeah Roku seems the best bet but $99 is a stretch. If I could get stuff for like $40, I'd be all over it, but at that price its only USB stuff.

All those devices listed need a USB port or some wireless connection. I was hoping there would be an affordable device out there that could use HDMI cables. And there really is something up with the PS3/router, I've been trying to hook it up for awhile and its problematic.

 

Oh you mean to get the internet to it. Ethernet cable or wireless connection would needed to the device you are hooking up by HDMI to your TV.

I just looked over that Roku stick and I assumed its USB. Its an HDMI stick.

Why would we want to pay 75% more if we don't have to? That's a pretty stupid question. I just bought a new house. I was thinking of paying an extra $50k just because I can afford it, but thought what the heck, I'll just keep that money.

Most of us sign up anyway when the price drops down this low at the end of summer. Might as well hold hands while we do it and save a decent chunk of money, collectively. If 12 people sign up together the community saves $90. That's almost enough to send one guy to one playoff game, and then the other 11 can live vicariously through him.

 

Or, we could all have a pizza party (no suckers allowed).

Just got a Samsung Smart TV a couple months ago myself. I originally bought a a 60" SHARP Aquos, but it had a lot of weird kinks and issues with it, so they replaced it with a Samsung. Quality is ridiculous, and I like the compatibility with apps like Netflix and MLB.TV.

 

My only major complaint is that the delay on MLB.TV is more pronounced when watching it on the TV. It drops from about 30 seconds on the PC, to about 2 minutes on the TV. That might have more to do with my wireless internet modem, but I don't know for sure.

Definitely the best TV I've ever owned, can do just about everything with it. Since I only just got MLB.tv, I haven't done enough tinkering around yet to really see about delays. I'll likely still just watch the Jays on Sportsnet since I don't mind Buck, so when I'm checking out message boards there won't be any worry about spoilers. I won't mind as much about the delay with other games, though. I'm just pumped about being able to watch any game I want. lol Especially at this point in the season.

Try a different browser? I know some browsers have hiccups on weird f***ing sites. Firefox works better for me than Chrome on MLB's site.
