Just in case anyone ends up not getting a group, if it wasn't already clear, the rest-of-season price for MLB.TV Premium has been lowered to $10 on a solo purchase.

Posted
Wait, so there's a chance it'll charge me $10 if it's only Admin+me? I have to wait 48 hours to find out how much my CC will be charged?

If it's just admin and you, it'll be $5.00 per person I think (I could be wrong).

The new solo purchase price is $10, and it gets divided among people who purchase it has a group.

I'm confused

-is this only for college students (link give me the 35% promo)

-if its shared, how does it work? We all share a login? They OK with that?

Hurl, If i join with you at $5 can we both login on separate devices to watch at same time?

It's just a referral system, you sign up for 9.99 premium but if you invite 3 other friends to join within 48 hours everyone pays $2.50 for their own premium subscription.

So i wont actually know how much I paid until the 48 window closes. Hopefully we get 4 guys signed up so its only $2.50

You get a pop-up on the right side of your screen that asks you if you want to join Admin's group:

BTW, I probably asked this before, but I'm lazy again.

I have a really old 50 inch TV that doesn't have a USB slot. It does have an HDMI slot though.

Is there anyway for me to watch MLB.TV on this TV using some sort of 3rd party device, OTHER than a computer? How about those small TV box thingamajigs?

I do have a ps3 if that helps

Keep in mind everyone that there is an auto-renewal next year. so you'll need to opt out if you don't want it.

please make an opt out thread to remind us in the offseason!

Join my group, need three people and we'll pay $2.50 each.

After that if someone wants to start a new group and do the same, you can do so.

Here is my group:

Signed up through your group. The message said Admin + you + 2 others, so I'm guessing it's full now. ?

I just remembered that my router/ps3 are not compatible for some reason, and I'd have to buy an older one in order to be able to use wifi on that and my new comp. any other solutions?

Yeah, you have your own accounts. It's just a cheap referral system so everybody joins up right now, and then the auto-renewal clause for 2016 in the sign up contract makes MLB.TV a s*** ton of money because a lot of people who sign up for cheap will forget to cancel and end up paying $130 for it next year.

There is no way that your router and ps3 would just straight up be "not compatible". You just need to figure it out and forward the correct port or something.

Other than that, I think you can buy a WDTV box for like 90 bucks and they support mlb.tv, also come with netflix apps and USB slots.

Even cheaper, you could get a Chromecast and sling it from your computer.

Just about every android box supports mlb.tv. You can pick one up for about $100 and you should find plenty of other uses for it.

f*** apple!

Here are some of the compatible devices with MLB.tv apps:

If you have an Android phone or tablet, Chromecast works really well for MLB.tv and is only $40. If not, a streaming box like a Roku or Apple TV will do the trick. All of those devices use HDMI.

f*** it I'll just buy a new TV.

All those devices listed need a USB port or some wireless connection. I was hoping there would be an affordable device out there that could use HDMI cables. And there really is something up with the PS3/router, I've been trying to hook it up for awhile and its problematic.
