I feel your pain, OP. But screw it, I'll try to buy playoff tickets if they make the ALDS for sure. BTW, if we win the AL East, who do we face in the ALDS? The AL West or Central champs? Or the AL wild card champs? How does it work? Never bothered to look into the rules lol.

Right now kc plays WC champ and we pay AL West (Houston)

Wildcard winner (Yankees or Angels) plays the team with best record (Royals). So right now we match up with the Astros. Not to get ahead of it, but I think the Jays would roll right through the Astros. A Jays / Royals ALCS would be incredible.

There is nothing to say that we can't catch-up to KC. I think Angels will win that division in the long run

II agree with you, but more-so regarding the Angels. Have to think the Angels would be more of a challenge. Trout could steal a game himself, and in a best of 5 that's trouble. Still think the Royals keep the best record, but could be close.

Thanks, that clears things up.

Imagine if Baltimore comes out the WC, then beats KC and the Jays face them in the ALCS...........

Yeah way more worried to face the Orioles than the Rays. EDIT: No way Orioles beat the Royals, by the way.

I'll take a full bandwagon over a 13k Tuesday night anyday. If you wanted to ensure you had games late into this season, should of purchased them early on.

Also, although there was a sellout today, the 500 level was probably 60% full. I'm certain a ton of tickets are on the secondary market and can be had for slightly above cost if you are willing to wait a couple innings.

I'm no fan of bandwagon fans, but at some point along the road when the team shows an unwillingness to actually compete and win, the proper thing really is to stop watching and either force the team to get better or force them to quit and move on. Instead, we have an endless allowance for middle-of-the-road, get-them-next-year platitudes.

The Leafs situation might be infinitely worse though. Why would a company ever need to make an effort when it knows it can make billions of dollars merely by existing? Not to mention, all the worthless executives associated with the team become millionaires because the team is terrible. So why would they want the team to be good? To become good it means they have to be fired, so its actually in their interests to remain garbage. At least it's not quite on the level of the Cubs though.

The average price for a 500 level ticket over the weekend on secondary websites is: $56, $60 and $58 (Fri, Sat, Sun). Probably won't be quite as expensive on some weeknight games going forward, but who knows.

Rays can beat Royals though with their elite starters

ehhh, maybe. The Archer / Cueto match up is probably a coin toss. But I think the Royals offense scores more runs on Tampa the rest of the way.

I'm happy people are into baseball. I'm just sick that the people that refused to go to games now are stopping me from getting a ticket that I can actually afford.

This is basically the problem with bandwagoners. Their money counts just as much everyone else's, but the crush of them all at once can squeeze out the guys that have been there through the tough times.

if you wanted to be sure to have tickets now, you had to have faith earlier in the year and just buy them before the bandwagon started. Most people buy their tickets the day they are released. If you waited this long then it's kind of your fault? lol just sayin

If you want to guarantee yourself playoff tickets, buy season tickets. We're all bandwagoners compared to season ticket holders.

Not everybody has thousands of dollars sitting around and time every night

Many of the posters on this forum have called the jays a .500 team, or a team that might only win 70 games, a team that has no pitching, a team that should trade away Bautista EE and basically "blow up the team" since spring training.... the argument could be made that they are in fact bandwagon fans imo

You must've missed the part where the Jays were basically a .500 team before adding Tulo, Price, Revere, Lowe and Hawkins.

don't dare tell him the world is not flat. that and the fact that the jays had a monster trade deadline might be an information overload.

Yeah exactly, bandwagon fans jump on board when the team starts wining (ie: gets better whether it is via trade or otherwise). So the argument goes, that the diehard fans root for the team no matter what the circumstance whereas the fairweather/bandwagon fans do not.

An extreme example are those that have said I hope we go on a big losing streak so that so-and-so gets traded or that AA gets fired etc.

Let's be honest 99% of us are probably kinda bandwagoners. Let's face it, if we were out the race most of us, myself included wouldnt be glued to the TV or radio every single game. I couldn't even fathom missing a game now.

I had two tickets for tomorrow's game for my girlfriend and myself. I bought them the same day the Jays acquired Price, although I actually wasn't aware at the time. My girlfriend is in the hospital so I sold them on StubHub since it wouldn't feel right to go without her. Does that make me the anti-bandwagoner?
