Was unable to Google an answer to this. Does anyone know who would broadcast playoff games? Buck and Pat? And would it be the same in every level of playoffs? This hasn't even come up in decades and I have no idea what arrangements might have changed since.

Of course

I don't know how it works in Canada, but I know fox has bought the rights for a lot of these games in recent past, but that might just be the games further down the line.

The AL Wildcard game is on ESPN

rules are not the same for Canada... ESPN has it for American viewers. Rogers could hopefully just pay for their broadcast, but will most likely force you to listen to Buck

I think Foxsports, the Jays will have Jamie and Zaun doing their usual in game commentary between every few innings, though.

Nah, unless Buck joins an American broadcast team, which he has every year as a colour man, he does well in that regard.

Sportsnet will broadcast them, so the cast likely wouldn't change (maybe some minor additions to join Zaun and Campbell?). Sportsnet has Canadian distribution rights which include the all-star game, home run derby, and all postseason games.

Sportsnet. The real question is whether they'd go to the TBS/Fox Sports feed or would Buck and Pat still do that the game, similar to what happens in the Raptors playoff games.

back in the day when the Jays were in the playoffs ('85-'93 era) the Jays TV broadcasters stepped aside for NBC's crew etc.

that's before they were owned by a media giant. so I don't know how they will do things. Lets get there and the rest will take care of itself

they would probably do their own because that way they get extra revenue from in game sponsors. Like when they go the "drive of the game" and such..

heard Wilner say today that Buck & Pat (just like local Jays TV broadcasters of the past) would be out for the playoffs (FWIW)

????

I was a kid back at the time, but I clearly remember Tom Cheek's "touch 'em all, Joe"

So TBS guys if the Jays get to the postseason (and Fox if we get to the World Series)

That's the radio...

There's no local TV broadcasts for playoff games. All you get is the TBS/Fox/ESPN/MLBN/whoever national feed.

Uhm I'm pretty sure he said they'd be IN for he playoffs, meaning, there would be a Rogers broadcast.

I distinctly remember the broadcasters signing off, and being slightly disappointed that they would no longer be the ones calling the games (although, I can't even remember the names of those guys). God, I miss that time in Toronto. Seeing the front of the Toronto Star's sport's section, with the little "the magic number is..", which was what ever number of games they had left to clinch the division. Watching the ALCS, which usually coincided with Thanksgiving. The Toronto Sun's horrible puns ("Who needs a hanky, we have Henke"). To think there's a whole generation of fans who weren't alive during that time.

Here's a cool video that was filmed the night they won the '92 World Series. It's interesting as a time capsule, seeing the fashions, hair styles back then. And to see Toronto really cut loose.

CBC news broadcast of the win. Rare footage of fans storming the field. I was there in the dome that night. Should the team actually end up in the World Series on the road, I hope the Rogers Centre lets fans watch it on the jumbotron:

And some upset US national broadcasters dreading having to come to Toronto to do games, considering they've NEVER done postseason games at Rogers Centre.

Jays radio IN ... Jays tv OUT (just like the good ol' days.)
