Now I know you guys aren't serious, but this kid is another prematurely promoted one, and he still got plenty of weak contact even if he was unable to finish the hitters off. 11 groundballs, 2 popups, 4 flyballs and 0 line drives is an otherworldly batted ball profile. Doubt he's going to keep it up, but then I also doubt he'll keep up the 3/1 BB/K.

Why is he prematurely promoted? Why do you give a f*** who he's pitching to?

The small amount of games he had at Dunedin weren't enough proof that he had mastered the level, imo. It matters less with pitchers though, so whatever I guess. It's interesting to see the steady approach they took earlier with guys like Sanchez and Synder now thrown out of the window.

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. Greene is 20 years old; we traded Syndergaard as he was just coming off his age 19 season. The point? Its very likely that we would have handled Syndergaard the exact same way considering that he was in Lansing as a 19 year old. Sanchez is a totally different case as he quite obviously never showed the control to be rushed along anyway.

What did Osuna master before pitching in the Mexican league (AAA equivalent)? Did it hurt him? Connor Greene might get destroyed in AA. If he does he'll get a better sense of what he needs to work on to get advanced hitters out. Also, shortcuts he may have used to get lower level hitters out may get exposed in AA. If it does great.

Fair points, absolutely. But if the pitching coach in Dunedin is such a great pitching coach and been so helpful for Greene's development, doesn't make sense to keep Greene over there for at least half a season? Make sure he's learned everything he can over there before sending him to New Hampshire.

it's time to test his latest findings against stiffer competition
