kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Poor little punks from Kansas got all beat up by the big mean men from Canada. The Royals do not play in Kansas.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 lol @ mlb, is anyone surprised? as has been said, I think most of us are just unhappy that no one from the KC team got any punishment.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 "He can't take it," Volquez said of Donaldson. "I don't know why. He hit a lot of homers in the first couple of games and he was pimping everything he does. Somebody hits you, you've got to take it, because you're pimping everything you do." Yup, no intent here whatsoever.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 So its okay to throw multiple times at the league mvp Is it any more or less ok than throwing multiple times at another player?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Morally it's the same but fans go to see good players, it's worse for the league when superstars (like JD) miss time
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Sure, I know. I was just trying to point out that it really shouldn't matter who's being thrown at.
pat_borders Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Is anyone here disputing that Sanchez intentionally threw at the batter? What's the big deal. Aaron and Gibby probably knew it was coming. Was still worth it. He clearly threw at him, its just disgusting that it was so one sided, the only person that deserves a suspension is Wolf for letting the game get to that. Throw at our guys 4 times and we finally retaliate and get tossed. He should of thrown at his f'ing head like they did to Donaldson
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Unless you have tickets for upcoming games.. I'd be far more upset if I bought tickets to the next series and I didn't get to see Tulo or JD bc some punk decided to hit them for petty bs (like the Royals did)
Molitor Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 saves having anything to do with the umpires union. This is what I was thinking too. It's way easier for MLB to just trust the umpires judgment and not go against the union on something that's ultimately subjective anyway. That said, they also could have just not suspended anyone and the umps would still save face. Or perhaps they're just complete morons and have piss-poor sense of right and wrong.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I'm pretty sure those are team rules and not an mlb thing. Each team would have their own rules. Personally I'd keep my players away from it as much as possible. let some tech guy take care of their accounts. It would stop a lot of s*** from ever happening. Threatening to intentionally bean a guy is threatening to assault him under the guise of fair play. It should absolutely be a suspendable offense. You see how we're all trying to psychoanalyze Sanchez to decide if his HBP was intentional? A guy publically stating his intent on social media is *telling us what we're trying to speculate*. If a guy is just going to out his intent, you get him for it. It's hard enough to stop headhunters, so you nab the idiots who advertise it. I'd even go so far as to say that the player in question should be prohibited from pitching in any game in which he will be facing the other guy's team.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I kind of wish they put Donaldson in to pitch against Hosmer or something, just to have the Royals bench get all upset.

He should of thrown at his f'ing head like they did to Donaldson IF, and that's a big if, Sanchez threw intentionally at Escobar he would have been better off head hunting and making the most of that ******** suspension. Disclaimer - in no way am I condoning intentionally creating a situation that could cause serious injury, it's more of a statement of disbelief at the broken system that allows this to happen and umpires to go without any accountability.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 f*** MLB. I thought it would get better with Manfred.
Rafters Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Basically MLB just refusing to acknowledge incompetence of its UMPIRE....and insisting he got the situation correct
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Basically MLB just refusing to acknowledge incompetence of its UMPIRE....and insisting he got the situation correct exactly
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I think the league is just setting the term based on the action and warning in place. Once the appeal is heard, and all the video and facts are delivered it should be washed or a 1 game minimum.
