It's a nice shot but can hardly see anything from the 5th floor, not sure why people bother buying those tickets.

100%. 10x better watching on HD TV (with PVR)... but it's nice to get out of the house I guess

It totally depends where you are in the upper deck and pictures always make things look further away. Anywhere between the corner bases and within the first 10 rows or so are actually great seats at a fraction the cost. Like $15 vs $75+ below you. Not to mention they offer better views at half the cost compared to the outfield lower deck.

Edit: Just saw this on Reddit, Josh Donaldson's home run from upper deck view I'm referring to:

Unless you're around the infield in the 500 level, within the first 10 rows I wouldn't even bother watching a game anywhere else. At the Rogers Centre, you're so far away from everything. I wouldn't pay more than face value for a seat like that. I'd rather watch the game from the comfort of my own home with free concessions or if paying $15 for a 500 level seat like that one, I'd just grab a spot along one of the railings in the 100 level concourse behind the dugouts and watch the game from their even though you'd be standing.

If I had the chance to go to games every month I'd take cheaper seats, but since I only get to a game every couple of years I don't care if it's $80

Oh I agree same with me, I only go a couple times a year and no problem spending. But I use to buy upper deck tix all the time with friends when I was in high school, so worth it if you had no money. We'd go 4-5 times a year and there was always 1 game where we just needed a can donation for a ticket lol.
