Where's Osuna in that?

Just like I did not like throwing Cecil in the closer's role when he was our best RP at the beginning of the season, not the biggest fan of Osuna in the closer's role. I think Osuna should be put on Batman duty.

Smoral + Borucki

Goddamn even the injured Lefties aren't safe.

AA: get all the lefties the f*** out of the farm system immediately!

Uh oh! The next guy better be Navarro because I don't think the board can handle losing another shitbag nothing prospect!

95% of guys like Wells and Brentz bust, they're a long shot to be anything more than a LOOGY with back of the rotation upside and ~5yrs away.

Borucki's back actually. 5.2. IP this year.

Not to rain on this Lowe love-in, but while he's been good this year, he's been somewhere between meh-and-atrocious the rest of his career. Non-2015 K/BB rate of 1.9, r u kidding? No Jays RP (other than pre-injury Sanchez) anywhere close to that level of control futility. Good on the mariners for getting 3 warm bodies for this guy. Not sure how he's anything other than a lateral move for the BJs. Hope he continues pitching as well as he has in 2015. Regression to the mean suggests he won't.

Well let's ride him until he's cold. I don't see any of those minor leaguers going anywhere, Rasmussen was closest to game ready but let's be honest he was pretty underwhelming.

He's not a SP. RP's have very volatile seasons, look at Delabar. He's pitching really well this year and we happen to need someone for this year.

Wat? They seem "volatile", because each season for a RP is a tiny sample size. That's specifically WHY you look at what they've done over their career, not the narrow window of 1 season. Grade school statistics ftw. And this guy's been junk, end of story.

Yeah but check out his velocity. Back up to 95 like it was when he was actually productive. Not 92 like when he was bad.

That's an indication that he's healthier than he has been, right?

Are you for real? The best relievers come out of no where all the f***ing time, look at Hendriks this year for crying out loud

I didn't think the board was this dumn. You don't trade multiple prospects for a 32 year old reliever who's had his first above average season.... also known as a fluke season.

He's a rental.....we'll take the Delabar fluke season all day long here in 2015. Like Delabar, he's a guy who's been hurt a ton in his career. He's healthy and he's fantastic this year.

Still waiting to someone to tell me why Mark Lowe is not really bad in a way that doesn't include his fluke 2015 season.

Nobody's bothering because it's irrelevant. He's good right now, we need him right now and he likely won't be back next year.

Lefties die earlier and stuff. Market inefficiency, sell high before anyone else realizes.

Put Mark Lowe with his s***** GB rate and fluky HR rate in Rogers Centre and he's going to lose games. You don't suddenly become a good pitcher over night. This is not a Steve Delabar story.

"That's not how it works."

One non-propsect, a marginal prospect and minor league filler. Not a bad deal, especially if Lowe continues to pitch well until season's end.

Posted
It is how it works, Mark Lowe is due for some SERIOUS regression. This deal is brutal.

Seriously - did you see him pitch vs. the Jays like 5 days ago? This man is lights out. You realise there are stats the include park factors eh?

I take back my initial overreaction. I'm not familiar with Wells' upside, but the package doesn't seem that big of a deal.

I'll transfer my rage to the impending Revere trade.

Can't believe people are saying they like this guy... it's almost as if one guy said it and then everyone also just didn't want to disagree.

Why don't you tell us which one of those guys you'll miss and why

32 years old - suddenly figured it all out - makes perfect sense!!

Whether he regresses or not, how is that gonna make brentz learn to throw strikes and Wells a top notch prospect?
