Jarrod Dyson (L) RF Preview by Jeffrey Flanagan / MLB.com | July 29th, 2015 Left-hander Danny Duffy (4-4, 4.03 ERA) takes the mound for the Royals as they open a four-game series at Toronto and against right-hander Marco Estrada (7-6, 3.55 ERA). The Royals took two of three from the Blue Jays earlier this month in Kansas City. Estrada gave up eight hits and five runs over four innings in his last outing, a 5-2 loss to the Mariners. Duffy had a no-decision last Saturday against Houston, going six innings and giving up just one run and three hits. Three things you should know about this game • Royals newcomer Ben Zobrist is expected to join the team on Thursday and start in left field -- he's 1-for-1 against Estrada. "This already is a good team. I just [don't want to] screw it up," Zobrist said. • Estrada lost, 3-0, to the Royals earlier this month, giving up nine hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings. Eric Hosmer got three hits off him. • Jose Bautista has hit well against Duffy -- he is 4-for-6 in his career off the lefty and has also drawn four walks.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 How terrible it would be if we got swept.
baubau Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I am surprised Martin is at DH. I thought for sure he'd have gotten a game off. Guess Gibby really doesn't like the idea of Smoak hitting against LHP lol.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Should be able to hit the piss out of Duffy but i said the same thing about Morgan.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Put everyone on waivers and get back assets. Best case scenario for the Jays is to win the World Series in 2015, then somehow flop and be utter s*** next year, so we can sell off a huge haul of players at the deadline

LTR Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Lol... we have to play the Royals for 4 games? All this hype could be completely flattened by the end of this series...
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This series is probably gonna tell us if the Jays are a playoff team this year.
labadee Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 let's go blue jays! i dont think this team is intimidated by anyone, even with their record
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Without Travis and Edwin... This could suck At least Price will start one of the games
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Let's Go Blue Jays!!!!!!!
LTR Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Price vs. the Royals is basically the worst match-up for us... they don't strike out and they're not intimidated by elite pitching. I'd save him until Monday. If you want to beat the Royals you've got to do it with the bats. Their only weakness really is SP.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 At least Bautista is back in RF but Valencia makes me quiver.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This and the Twins series coming up are going to be huge
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Any word on EE's injury status? I heard Travis could miss substantial time which would suck.

You don't mind sitting out an extra day and f***ing up your routine right?."
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Huge series. Let's take 3 out of 4 please.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Any word on EE's injury status? I heard Travis could miss substantial time which would suck. A decision on Travis will be made tomorrow. As for EE, he's likely day-to-day.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Huge series. Let's take 3 out of 4 please. Yes. Take 3/4 and the Jays could be in the 2nd wild card.. Twins have a tough set vs. the Mariners, and Minnesota has been the opposite of Philly post-All Star break, going 3-8. This is why the Jays made the Tulo and Price deals.. they see a wild card chance as a strong possibility, and they also see Tampa not likely to do much, and Baltimore not having the prospect depth to even consider making a deal without mortgaging part of the 25-man roster.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Escobar leadoff with Zobrist hitting 6th. Genius I tell ya!
Followthelight Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 What's up with EE? Damn sucks EE, travis are out right now, we need them in the lineup even though EE has not had a great year so far.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 KC struck out only 4 times vs Price in 2 starts this year (15.1 IP). Don't expect him to come out of the gates with a bang like Tulo did, if he pitches Sunday.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Escobar leadoff with Zobrist hitting 6th. Genius I tell ya! Holy f***, Ned Yost managing a winning team is maddening
Followthelight Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Every series on out is important but this one and the next one against the twins seems like it will tell us a lot about where this team is going.

Okay bro, I won't expect Price to be Price against the Royals because of that meaningful 15 IP sample that you posted.
