Idk what Fatcow is talking about with all this "waiting" business considering we're both like 12, lol.

That's 12 years of waiting right there!!!! ;)

Who's going to have the better career, Daniel Norris or the compensation pick we will receive for price signing elsewhere?

How many times do we need to go over this?

Another poster made a comment yesterday about this but I'll ask - what is in the water in Saskatchewan?

Sorry for not checking the board and every single post. What with a job and kids, I don't get the opportunity to spend as much time as you on the board. It's a good question. There are those that jerk off over prospects and others who would actually like to win. Would I trade Stroman for Price? Absolutely not, but Stroman has demonstrated at the mlb level that he could be a front of the line starter. Norris has seen a drop in velocity that makes me worry about arm injuries, and his mechanics are no where near as solid as stroman. His walk rate is up and his strikeout rate is down by an alarming rate this year. He could still be that top of the rotation guy, but he looks more like a mid rotation arm which is something you should be able to get with a comp pick.

You still wouldn't make this trade if you had no young pitching, but this team has Osuna, Hutch, Stroman and Sanchez...all who could start next year.

Hey GD, I never noticed, did you like this trade or hate it?

Yes. I can't believe anyone who's been a fan of this team through this 22 year drought actually hates this trade. We've been waiting on prospect for years on years now, and the only prospect we give up is Norris in exchange for Price, the first #1 starter we've had since Roy Halladay, and along with the best offence in baseball and renewed energy in the ballclub we're poised to do something that we haven't done in 22 YEARS.

I even think that, if the Yanks don't do anything, we might overtake them for the division lead. We have what, 60 games and we're only 6 games back and this is with a Jays team that had Reyes instead of Tulo and rotated Dubrount/Copeland/etc in the #5 spot for the past month/2 months. It is very doable IMO. Imagine Price starting with this potent offence behind him? Also lets not forget that Norris has been struggling this year with controlling walks in AAA, not taking anything away from his talent, but he might be a question mark down the line he's no guaranteed Ace, we can trade a bat in the offseason for a prospect even better I bet.

Teams adding talent at the deadline don't get comp picks. The player has to be on the team the entire season.

Price is a straight up rental. We will lose him for literally nothing.

Please re-sign him, Rogers. 7/210. We will regret it in a few years but we will regret it more when he leaves for nothing.

This entire post has nothing to do with what I wrote.

I apologize if I sound rude, but for the billionth time, YOU DON'T GET A COMP PICK FOR RENTALS.

If you're a Mormon with 8 wives and 96 kids and still have been on this message board for 2.5 years, you should know that and if you don't, look it up instead of asking what's been asked countless times.

Again, sorry for being rude, but it's frustrating after a while.

f*** everything. Pompey and Alford for Gomez.

Why'd you delete your post in the Tulo poll thread, you said you'd vote if Alex made other moves?

This is a pretty big flipping move!?

*For a chance at the 2nd WC and a 50/50 chance to win that WC...

I don't think you're looking at this the right way.

You don't make a trade like this and think, well, now we have a shot at the 2nd WC. We might make it now.

No, you make a trade like this when you think, we're in the playoffs with this trade. This move is putting us over the hump and we're in the wildcard game, barring catastrophic injury.

I think there has to be that level of certainty when you let a prospect like Norris go for all of 11 or 12 starts. If we miss the playoffs altogether, AA misjudged the talent on the field and it's a bad move. If Price puts us over the top then the misery of 22 f***ing years subsides a little and we're watching playoff games for the first time since I was in grade f***ing ten.

Can't win the World Series if you're not in the playoffs, it's as simple as that. And I'm not sure we can get there without Price.

I didn't delete any posts. I'll vote later tonight, but I like the deal. I don't think it's amazing, but I like it. For purposes of hindsight, you can say I supported it.

It gives non voters the ability to use the powers of hindsight in future arguments without there being a trace of their original thoughts.

Don't be a ********. I've always admitted when I've made terrible proposals or had wildly poor preferences in the past (like wanting the Jays to extend Rasmus and sign Infante in the same offseason). I don't backtrack on my opinions.

Uhmm...yes, you did.

I'm with BTS and Hurl here (if I didn't misinterpret their points), I think it's a decent move, but this isn't exactly the Donaldson deal. I don't think this is a slam-dunk win trade, and Tulowitzki could easily become an albatross. As big of a fan that I am of Hoffman (it wouldn't surprise me if we someday look back on keeping Norris over Hoffman as keeping Sanchez over Syndergaard) I'm not upset that we gave him up here. I just have to question whether or not he could have been moved in a deal for something the Jays needed more. I think I'm neutral on this trade until we see what other moves are made.

Or is it from another thread? IDK...:P

It must have been in another thread.

It was a general comment. Whether you backtrack or not is for you to decide... But if you wanted to, not voting would help give you a vehicle to do so. I would've named you by name if I was going to attack you.

BTS, NJH, Nox and King haven't voted yet, some of those guys are really outspoken against this front office, so I'd like to see their take.

One thing for sure...it's put up or shut up time for some of the veterin leedership guys that whined last year about no additions. Let's see what you got boys..

Please stop quoting saskjaysfan, thx.

my mistake, I thought they were getting a comp pick. I was incorrect. As I said, I'm quite the busy little beaver. I'm sure you're not changing any diapers, now are you GD. I still like the trade, but the cost is more than I thought it would be if they got the pick. At least I'm not hedging my bets and not taking a stance. Would you do the trade GD

Well they lose price after this year so the cost is very high. Don't see them catching the Yankees so for a wild card shot this is a very expensive move.
