Read this somewhere today: the last time a team traded for an ace and ended up winning the World Series was the Jays with David Cone in '92. David... Cone. The Toronto Blue Jays.

The stars are aligning! Can't be a coincidence! (edit: definitely is a coincidence)

Not singling you out (you pointed out coincidence) but I'm sick and tired of dumn references to 92/93 teams.

I want the Jays to make a serious playoff run this year if only to stop the organization from throwing 92-93 in our faces every time they want to distract from the current product.

"The current team sucks, but come join us for Kelly Gruber Day at the stadium!".

Make us forget 92/93, please. At least for the time being.

Realistically... The chances of Price resigning are zero.

For sure, but the chances of him re-signing are a bit higher than zero.

Edit: Inklink beat me to this line.

Yeah, that would cause some errors in the various algorithms that calculate these things...

dont you guys think AA should have acted quickly by getting Kazmir? He is what Jays needed, and now DNo is gone. I m so sad...

Didn't they ask for norris or something though?

Its actually amazing how much of a domino effect Stroman's injury had. Were he still here, we could have likely kept Norris and Sanchez would have been in the pen all along.

Oh well..

I had an odd Jamie Gertz crush in the mid 80's

considering the eventual package they got from Astros Jays could definitely beat that very comfortably without involving any of the top tier prospects (ie. Tellez+SRF). Just felt considering Beane and AA's history, why AA didn't pounce on that...

That would be a real piss-off if Price decided to pull an Alexei Yashin...screw you Canadians with your summers indistinguishable from ours, free health care and lack of movie theater and church mass shootings...not gonna pitch there.
