You're responding to the Dogg, mate?!

I didn't know it was the Dogg. I hardly post/read much of the main forum board.

Estrada is really good,I think hes perfected the changeup and curve.

xFIP- says otherwise.

He's a solid 5 on a good team, at best.

4.27 SIERA. 10.5 SwStr% is good but his GB% is so bad. You can get guys like him cheap every year, appreciate what you get out of him but don't extend him. It's easy to find guys like him and Happ.

Why is the rotation filled out with red Sox trash if it's so easy?

Felix doubront. ....it was more a jab at AA and his sp depth

Felix Doubront is probably one of those easy to find decent guys

If you were looking at anything but ERA you'd see that they're pretty much equally talented.

In a fairly large ss this year, Estrada has proven to have excellent command of his fastball and change, with his curve not too far behind. It's entirely possible that Estrada may have figured something out with his delivery that's giving him the better command. I guess we'll have to give Doubront some more starts but his arsenal is weak. Estrada is by far the better #5 option.

More likely, he's a benefit of a bit of luck on his balls in play and that more of his flyballs haven't left the yard.

This year is not a large sample. He might be slightly better than Doubront but not by much.

Huh? Estrada has the worst walk rate of his career. He also has the worst xFIP- of his career.
