He used to be able to throw the curve for strikes and lock batters up but lately seems only able to bury it. He doesn't seem right.

He lacks the confidence a good closer needs.

He should no longer be expected to close,and be put back to his previous role,before it seriously f***s him up as a pitcher.

Give somebody else a try,see how it goes.Someone with a mid to upper 90,s fastball.

It feels like that the last few years. This year they've had three sellouts (home opener and both games this weekend) and they're 0-3. I haven't checked but in recent seasons it feels they lose most games with over 40k...

As far as the grounder that Reyes didn't seem to even see, I think the same happened to Goins where he got a late jump on a grounder and that probably was enough for it to get through him. I think it was with Hendriks pitching.

Roger Lajoie agreed.

He is the best looking bullpen pitcher right now-IMO.

3-2 homestand. Still 18-16 vs East with a +28 RD. Also, trending in the right direction.

Went to the game today, got sunburned like a mother f***er. I honestly thought the run that gave the O's the lead was gonna be a DP, it seemed like a slow grounder from my angle.

 

All in all it was fun, the second inning rally was pretty sick, Ace_Tillman the hero

All teams in the east are flawed which is why 3 games separate 1st from 4th. The O's rotation ain't that good and they had Nolan Reimold playing CF yesterday.

 

We'll see how the Jays do at TB where they got swept the last time they visited. Then they come back to RC for 3 vs the Rangers and 4 vs the Red Sox.

Reyes didn't seem to see the ball at all. I think Goins had something similar happen to him earlier in the game.

 

2 walks by Cecil were really bad as i think he was ahead of both Davis and Reimold.

Still dont understand why Gibbons didnt have Goins bunting.Would have been 2nd-3rd,with 1 out,and Reyes coming up.

 

When Travis gets back,that should improve both the offense,and defense.

Yeah, that's one of my beefs with Gibby. I know many hate bunting, including this dumbass, but things change with Goins at the plate. You expect him to either GIDP or a hit a long flyball to the IF.

 

I also thought it was too much to ask of him to fake a bunt and then try to hit the ball hard somewhere.

 

Maybe it was a missed sign, but I think Rivera went to talk to him.

Camping in the mountains the last couple days listening to sporadic bursts of reception the last 2 games. Talk about highs and lows. Pen was pretty good during the streak but they are going to keep getting exposed to state the obvious.

 

No new reliable arms = no playoffs. Wont be cheap to acquire as so many others are looking to bolster staffs. I'm willing to give up what it takes with the AL East wide open. This offense cant be wasted. 2015 is our year.
