Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Good thing the Jays won.. looks like we're not gaining ground vs. the Rays and Yankees, as they are winning. Still have a shot to pick up ground on the Rangers and Twins, though.. Ya, Go Cards and Dodgers.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Lol get over yourself, it wasn't some miraculous catch. We'll see that play and better hundreds of times in the remainder of the season. First off Org, FYSMC and shut up already, please ! You and Gruber pistols at Dawn should settle this nicely!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Position player alert--Ryan Raburn pitching in Cleveland right now.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Yanks win.. dang. Go Cards and Dodgers!
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I've been reading. It's weird to get this excited about one game If Org acted like you are right now, you'd get pissed at him. Meh, not sure about that. It's just kind of funny that he said that Goins is probably not even a top ten defensive middle infielder. I know there are tons of guys with as good or better range, but his hands and consistency is what lofts him in the top five. Almost every middle infielder in the MLB is capable of making a jaw dropping play.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Delabar is looking like a pitching key.... if he keeps this up it takes a lot of pressure off osuna and cecil.... and bring the bullpen to a level where the focus can be solely on obtaining SP help
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Consistency in baseball is a thing. Consistently bad?

What is not in question is you can be an ass.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Gruber will never accept the fact that Goins is not a good ball player.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Goins is elite on D, not so much with the bat. END OF STORY.

If he gloated like you have been every time Goins went 0fer you would be absolutely irate and you know it.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Goins is elite on D, not so much with the bat. END OF STORY. Except when he's at Fenway.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Didn't he shut us down in Oakland a year or two ago? Yeah I think so. He could do it again, he does have a nice 2 seamer that could lead to a lot of choppers, but for my fantasy team's purposes I'm considering benching him lol.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Gruber, you're this offended that he said Goins might not be top 10. If he gloated like you have been every time Goins went 0fer you would be absolutely irate and you know it. But everybody does call Goins a pos when he goes 0-4, i'm not sure how often Org does it though. The thing is that i know, and have stated this several times, that Goins is not a good hitter. Before the Travis trade, i was hoping he could hit just a little to justify AA starting him at second base. I know how important solid defence up the middle is and i couldn't stand watching Tolleson and Kawasaki not make plays, like turning two in particular, playing second. You guys just don't fully understand how important it is to have a reliable middle infielder, the ripple effect it has is huge. Travis is obviously our starting second baseman, he can flat out rake. I honestly didn't expect his defence to be this good, especially after watching him early on in ST. Goins has to stay on the 25 man and be a late defensive replacement for Reyes.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 That Monday game stings. Now have to depend Runs Aplenty Dickey to go for the split.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Consistently bad? Another slug who thinks offence is the only thing that exists.
North of 60 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Nice win. 14 in a row...oh wait
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Ugh Dickey tomorrow. Bound to give up at least 3. Want to dump him badly.
Smokey Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 ITT: A sad old man feels vindicated and starts gloating after watching a replacement level player make a couple of nice defensive plays... Smh
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 A very good team win tonight!!!!!!!!!
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Gruber probably thinks John McDonald was good at baseball.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Who was better at D, Johny Mac or Goins?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Who was better at D, Johny Mac or Goins? Mac, probably
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Gruber probably thinks John McDonald was good at baseball. Well then he's sure a serious con man into fooling MLB GM's for 15 years.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Mac, probably I wonder if you're really serious.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 ITT: A sad old man feels vindicated and starts gloating after watching a replacement level player make a couple of nice defensive plays... Smh I'm usually pretty happy most of the time. How about you bro? Are you happy?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Well then he's sure a serious con man into fooling MLB GM's for 15 years. Is it so unbelievable? Delmon Young has been doing it for ten, and GMs know more than ever before.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I wonder if you're really serious. Mac easily (imo). Goins is still very very good defensively though.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Mac easily (imo). Goins is still very very good defensively though. Fangraphs indicates they are quite comparable defensively. Virtually the same player on the field and at the plate IMO
