Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I'd be lying if I said I want concerned about facing Archer today, with KC leading the Twins... And how things might look heading into the last game of the season. Yes...I know... It's not the end of the world... But what not try to shoot for the moon. Would be great to have HFA in our back pocket should we have to face the Royals.

Would be great to have HFA in our back pocket should we have to face the Royals. I actually feel good about facing Archer. And I don't typically go for one of those "because we are better than them, pound your chest" type of argument. I really like how recently, our bottom part of the lineup is complementing the big bashers up top. The "up the middle, spray to all fields" approach has went well with the big 3. And with Tulo back, he is more of "used all parts of the field" than trying to hit HR all the time. I saw that in the early innings of last night's game before the floodgates opened...
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Why isn't Tulo in the game? they said yesterday that he would play one and rest today, then play tomorrow. easing him into the lineup instead of risking him breaking down.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I'll see your "road home runs", and raise you "steroid era". Every time I hear this I'm like why did pitchers take steroids if it didn't benefit them???
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Every time I hear this I'm like why did pitchers take steroids if it didn't benefit them??? It may have helped them, but I think the data from the era clearly suggests the advantage was skewed rather heavily on the side of the hitter.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Zaun really does have a vendetta against Marcus Stroman. He just said his 3 starters in the ALDS would be Price, Dickey, and Estrada hands down..

EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 The road greys return tonight after a long hiatus due to Tampa going "f*ck your superstitions we're gonna use our own blue tone alternates today" lol. Thanks Tampa, I like the road greys and the whole superstition with the alternate blue is ridiculous anyway.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I'm OK with a kid getting taken out if it's for a good play.

OK then

OK then I'm hardly contributing to it's media exposure. The event is on pretty much every sports show on the air.. but you say my posting a gif makes me part of the problem? Okay then random righteous internet dude... step up... I deleted the link to the gif.... now you delete yours from my quote... and we'll all live happily ever after. Man, even with a /team_Donaldson I still get grief... pfft... kids. Note to self: Stop wishing every community you join is full of nice people. The internet is a cesspool of ignorance and ill manners. Can hardly wait for the day anonymity dies.

That would have been very bad for everyone including Donaldson who would of had to live with it for the rest of his life. Fortunately, by luck, no one was injured. In the heat of the moment Donaldson just went for the ball without thinking, if he had time to consider the possible consequences he may not have done it. One note though, Donaldson didn't seem concerned about the kids he jumped on top of
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 That was an amazing play without a doubt but certainly not a type of play I wish he makes a habit of doing on every opportunity. I'd like to think there was much more motivation there on that play in particular than usual due to Estrada's perfect game still being on the line at that time.

One note though, Donaldson didn't seem concerned about the kids he jumped on top of He is a thoroughbred and will always go for the ball hard. Fans need to know this and be alert at all times (this includes parents of kids). Bats and foul balls as well as plays. As a side note I've seen JD very concerned about fans being hit by balls or thrown bats several times....walking over to that area when up at the plate. Talking to the umps about it etc. Almost visibly shaken by it.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Young kids shouldn't be allowed in the front rows. Foul balls and players diving in there.

Or put in another way - with the young kids, it is the parents responsibility. When my kids were younger and we had good seats, I always brought a glove not so much to get a souvenir but for my kids protection...
