dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I wish I had kawasaki's job. I don't have to play and I'll still be one of the most recognizable players.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Where is Russell Martin though? Apparently he left before celebrations started because he is trying to stay away from alcohol??

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Lol I would love to have Heyward but I just don't see it. Front office is gonna go hard after pitching this offseason. This team can do without Heyward. Disagree. Shapiro is not a fan of splurging on pitching, and I would be shocked if he pushes for resigning Price. Heyward is a far better investment, both in security (unlikely to pull a Verlander) and value (defense is undervalued.)

Currently next year's rotation is: Stroman, Dickey, Hutch. Price, Burly likely won't be back and Estrada shouldn't be brought back. You could fill out the last position with Osuna, sure, but you still have 1 spot remaining and Shapiro doesn't seem like he's dumb enough to put Sanchez there. I think if it comes down to it, by need he'll go after a pitcher. Not specifically Price, hopefully someone like Shark, Iwakuma, Chen, Zimmer, etc.

Win is a win IMO. If I'm breaking the bank for anyone this off season, it's Heyward 100%.

If I'm breaking the bank for anyone this off season, it's Heyward 100%. It is true. You do get more value with Heyward than you would with Shark. I am just trying to play devil's advocate really. If we got Hayward that would really allow this team to trade Revere, Pompey, Sanchez and other assets for a starter. Have Saunders or Carrera as 4th OF. Once Alfrod is ready he can then replace Bau in the future.

Zimmerman, Iwakuma, Kazmir, Shark, Anderson... There are alot of options.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 BTW, can anyone tell me what time and what gate I should go to tomorrow if I want one of the free hoodies?

Why would he come pitch in the majors to re-establish value, when he can do it in the minors (National League)

He gets so a few times actually LOL Also anyone know who that is at 1:07 in that video?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 We should pitch Estrada tomorrow and let Buehrle pitch in BAL. Estrada owns the Rays.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Pretty decent summary of the season so far by MLB: http://m.mlb.com/video/v503790483/blue-jays-earn-first-playoff-spot-since-1993 Only hiccup I can see is not mentioning getting Mark Lowe from Seattle. But solid summary.

Watching him play is a pleasure, he has a very high floor and some room to dream about his power potential.

venema20 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 The last few weeks it has become obvious the Jays players have no respect for Barry Davis. Almost every on-field interview after games they interrupt or do something to the player being interviewed to screw it up for Barry. And then watching the celebration video really showed how they really could care less about what he is doing. It really must be embarassing for him.

It didn't seem like any of the players (Jose Bautista or Josh Donaldson) were treated with any more respect than Barry Davis. Barry Davis was in the middle of the celebration so he probably expected to get mugged and drenched with champagne. I think the players welcomed him into the celebration even though they probably preferred not to have cameras rolling.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 f*** I wish Doc had gotten one more chance to play with the Jays and made the post season
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Will Halladay be our next pitching coach? Or is he the wrong personality for it??
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 lol was that Michael Saunders pouring the Champagne over Barry's head? At least he contributed somehow to the team.
