Renew your team up for WTPDL, yahoo. Also, your PMs are full.

Reyes

Nah, I don't read it that way - I don't think he's digging up former players. With that said I can't think of much guys aren't doing or aren't playing 100%... anything I can think of is a stretch... i.e. Edwin not hustling, Colabello in LF, Pillar flailing away, etc.

i'm thinking "it's been addressed" is referring to the guys that have left - reyes, tolleson, lefty killing what's his name

He never said it's been addressed... just "we've had discussion about it".

Are we the only team that Jiminez has had success against this yr? Seriously. So the O's probables are Jiminez, Wright and Tillman?

Great work whoever did it......I like how the guy on that twitter page says JD was clearly out as its obvious the glove has touched the cape

awesome!!

Wow...totally realized today that was Romero on this team only a few years ago. Time goes by. What a drop off he had after '11. Feel pity for him still.

Really interesting stuff about the Dickey effect. I checked the game log and its been 7 Dickey starts going all the way back to August 2 vs KC the last time a reliever has given up an ER following Dickey pitching that day.

That's 14 consecutive innings that RP haven't given up a run. I didn't tally up all the walks and SO but by just looking at the box scores I saw a lot of strikeouts.

He is absolutely calling his out his teammates but he's doing it very respectfully and without pointing any fingers... otherwise he wouldn't have said "for the most part", etc.

Calling out one's teammates would be volunteering opinions on their play. The reporter asked Donaldson if he sees himself as a role model and he answers that he's been as guilty as other guys for poor play, so no.

The context:

Donaldson was asked whether he sees himself as a role model for his teammates. He said no. On occasion, he needs to be reminded when he slips up, as everyone does, he said.

“I go out there and I try to lay it on the line every day, and I expect that from my teammates too,” he said. “And I think for the most part, they do that. There’s been times this year, myself or somebody else (where) that hasn’t happened, and we’ve had a discussion about it, because we expect that. We expect to go out there and we expect to play with intensity, and play smart.”

Ain't nobody calling out s***, guys. He responded as tactfully as he could have to a question that basically said "Do you think you're better than all of your team mates?"

Don't feel too bad. Since then he's met a new woman (Kara Lang) and they got married. Their expecting their first son shortly. All that baseball money (assuming it wasn't blown) should provide a nice nest egg.

Still don't understand if it was all mental or did Romero have physical changes

I think a lot of it had to do with not being able to exploit his reverse splits. Teams started using more left-handed hitters against him, taking away one of his strengths which was getting righties out and I think that got into his head and it just snowballed from there.

For the past couple of years now there really is no better series to watch as a Jays fan for the intensity than against the O's. It's about our only real rivalry at the moment and it feels like something can happen at any point in a game.

If the Jays have the division locked up by their last series with the O's (second last series of the season) I fully expect a team of bench players getting the start all series.

I was thinking about this the other day.

Say we end up in a WC matchup, we have to use Price. If we win, I think our next starter should be Dickey for that series, for the Dickey effect.

I agree. Especially if its in the dome where he seems to pitch well. If he looks like he doesn't have it in the first couple innings just use the bullpen. Stroman with his groundballs would be fantastic on the RC turf as well.

So matchups are Hutch/Jiminez, Price/some guy named Terry Doyle, Buerhle/Tillman. If we can tonight vs Jiminez...good chance we take 2/3 or sweep.

if we have to play a WC, the ALDS game 1 will be away if we win the WC. mostly likely in Kansas

Ubaldo:

4.34 ERA

4.07 FIP

3.71 xFIP

7.50 ERA, 5.73 FIP in 2nd half

Hutch:

4.87 ERA

3.85 FIP

4.05 xFIP

3.73 ERA, 4.18 FIP in 2nd half

Pretty good matchup. Two inconsistent guys who could either dominate or gas-can the game.

Ubaldo tanking is one of the big reasons that the O's have gone into a tailspin.

Ubaldo had 3 starts against Toronto in April/May:

19 IP, 6 ER, 23 K's, 6 BB

Hopefully we can hit ubaldo tonight.

hopefully they don't start throwing at our guys heads and our pitcher gets thrown out of the game because of a pitch at the knees!!

So Ubaldo has been beat up by the rest of the league and done well versus us...

I wonder if the Jimenez/Tulowitzki feud still exists.

This is back from 2012. Jimenez wasn't happy when the Rockies gave Tulowitzki and Gonzalez long term contracts and not him. Tulowitzki said Jimenez should get on with his career or something like that.

Then this.

Perfect fit with the Orioles.
