Governator Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Geez, I take Estrada over Stroman. Stroman hasn't pitched in the majors in almost a year. I wouldn't put eggs in that basket just yet. If we face off in the WC with Price, and win, then I'd like to see Dickey pitch game 1 of the next series for the Dickey effect. If we have face off in the WC with Price, in what world does the Dickey effect work against a different team who's had about a week's rest in game #1?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Damn...we miss Tillman this weekend. We almost always rough him up.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Damn...we miss Tillman this weekend. We almost always rough him up. No, we don't miss Tillman at all. The scheduled starters are Jimenez, TBA(not Gonzalez, likely to be Mike Wright on short rest), and Tillman. Chen is being pushed to the Yankees series. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bal-miguel-gonzalez-optimistic-hell-pitch-again-this-season-plus-more-orioles-notes-20150902-story.html

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Orioles always skip Chen vs us. Understandably so.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hope they skip Gonzalez. Gonzalez might be done for the season. You should talk to your doctor about Xanex.

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 What happened to Gonzalez? Missed it. I don't know he had shoulder issue last week and a cortisone shot, I don't really give a s*** about him to care though.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Yeah. Martin shouldn't have a single day off through the playoffs unless he's too hurt to play. I'd also slot Stroman in second. I'm all for the Dickey effect, but there should be zero chance of Dickey getting more starts in a series than a healthy Stroman. Going with Price, then a knuckleballer, then another flame thrower in Stroman, and then Papa Buehrle might work better in keeping the opponents off balance. Also sets up Stro for a potential Game 7. I don't like the idea of Dickey and Buehrle pitching back to back.

baubau Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Fly it over Baltimore & NY and make a smoke image of the Jays, Dickey! Or a middle finger. Either works.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Donaldson calls out his teammates!!! "“I go out there and I try to lay it on the line every day, and I expect that from my teammates too,” he said. “And I think for the most part, they do that. There’s been times this year, myself or somebody else (where) that hasn’t happened, and we’ve had a discussion about it, because we expect that. We expect to go out there and we expect to play with intensity, and play smart.” http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/mlb/toronto-blue-jays-r-a-dickey-throws-a-gem-in-win-over-cleveland-indians-while-marcus-stroman-has-solid-rehab-start

DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Sorry... Where does he call out his teammates? He doesn't. Basically said everyone (including himself) is guilty of lapses in intensity at times but they are holding each other accountable. That's what it takes to win and I'm glad they have that clubhouse culture now.
