HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Martin isn't really injured or else the Jays would do something about it. He's a little banged up and I assume he'll get three days of rest this week. Like how the Jays did with Travis?

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Where's the GDT? Do we stick with TL?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Off-topic question... But where the f*** is Fatcow??? He used to do all the GDTs

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Angels pitching is really good. :/
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Angels pitching is really good. :/ But boy does their offense reek! Is it a wonder why they're barely hanging on a postseason berth?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 And the flipping O's have the Twins next for 4. A bad rest of the trip and we could be on the outside looking in.
Nightmaul Verified Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 We all knew the pitching was much worse than it has been. Outlook not good.

Baltimore is 0-3 vs. the Twins this year. No sure thing the O's win this series. And of course, the Rangers face the Tigers as well. Oh, and Buxton will be playing CF in the series.. Hicks got DLd due to hamstring issues.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 We have 18 games left at home and 23 on the road. Since we really excell at home, we're capable of winning 13-14 of the 18. That leaves us to win 10-11 on the road of the last 23 (almost .500) Thoughts?
LTR Verified Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Jays medical staff doing it again. Martin playing injured, not healing, aggravating injury and bat has dropped off completely (don't care what he says about it not affecting his bat... he's either lying or wrong).

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Wow, Tulo only has a 98 wRC+ since coming over.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Jose Reyes 49 wRC+ since being traded. I was just surprised. Hadn't really looked at the numbers, and knew he was off to a hot start his first few games. Thought he was mashing.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 It was painful to watch Martin run to first in the 9th. I'd be inclined to give him a couple of days off.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Just looking at some of the pitching matchups for the next few games, it's going to be tough road ahead especially with the way the offense is going. But the Yankees don't have it easy either, Cleveland has some good young pitching.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 "Coors mirage" is an oft-cited term on Toronto airwaves these days. That's dumn. He's been pretty similar to his Coors production of the first 350 PA of the season.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Found it interesting that Ryan Goins is having a pretty decent month batting wise, even 5th in ops! Martin Pillar and Navarro not so much!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That's dumn. He's been pretty similar to his Coors production of the first 350 PA of the season. Hope he's just having an off year or something. It's really odd that he was walking at a 3% clip early in the year and now he takes so many hittable pitches for called strikes. What gives?

Maybe it has something to do with him batting lead off and thinking he needs to get on base. Who knows really...
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Maybe it has something to do with him batting lead off and thinking he needs to get on base. Who knows really... I don't like him leading off. If the reasoning is "having your best hitter leading off" theory, then I still don't like it because he clearly isn't our best hitter. Unfortunately, I don't know who else they'd have leading off. As good as Goins has been, Travis injury hurts.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I would have put pre-injury Martin in the lead off spot. But yeah right now there is no one appropriate for it

As good as Goins has been, Travis injury hurts. You don't like him leading off once a game? That theory isn't "having your best hitter leading off" - it's having your best hitters at the top of the lineup so they get the most at bats. Career .370 OBP with average speed makes him a good candidate....especially since the JD/Bats/E5 alignment is obviously comfortable on those roles.
