Martin isn't really injured or else the Jays would do something about it. He's a little banged up and I assume he'll get three days of rest this week.

Like how the Jays did with Travis?

I am not sure I think we should call Adam Lind's mom.

And the flipping O's have the Twins next for 4. A bad rest of the trip and we could be on the outside looking in.

Baltimore is 0-3 vs. the Twins this year. No sure thing the O's win this series. And of course, the Rangers face the Tigers as well.

Oh, and Buxton will be playing CF in the series.. Hicks got DLd due to hamstring issues.

We have 18 games left at home and 23 on the road.

Since we really excell at home, we're capable of winning 13-14 of the 18. That leaves us to win 10-11 on the road of the last 23 (almost .500)

Thoughts?

Jays medical staff doing it again. Martin playing injured, not healing, aggravating injury and bat has dropped off completely (don't care what he says about it not affecting his bat... he's either lying or wrong).

We all knew the pitching was much worse than it has been. Outlook not good.

Jose Reyes 49 wRC+ since being traded.

I was just surprised. Hadn't really looked at the numbers, and knew he was off to a hot start his first few games. Thought he was mashing.

Just looking at some of the pitching matchups for the next few games, it's going to be tough road ahead especially with the way the offense is going. But the Yankees don't have it easy either, Cleveland has some good young pitching.

"Coors mirage" is an oft-cited term on Toronto airwaves these days.

That's dumn. He's been pretty similar to his Coors production of the first 350 PA of the season.

Hope he's just having an off year or something.

It's really odd that he was walking at a 3% clip early in the year and now he takes so many hittable pitches for called strikes. What gives?

Maybe it has something to do with him batting lead off and thinking he needs to get on base. Who knows really...

I don't like him leading off. If the reasoning is "having your best hitter leading off" theory, then I still don't like it because he clearly isn't our best hitter. Unfortunately, I don't know who else they'd have leading off. As good as Goins has been, Travis injury hurts.

You don't like him leading off once a game? That theory isn't "having your best hitter leading off" - it's having your best hitters at the top of the lineup so they get the most at bats. Career .370 OBP with average speed makes him a good candidate....especially since the JD/Bats/E5 alignment is obviously comfortable on those roles.
