o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 It's a discussion thread. Who cares apparently smokey.... lol love the fake indignation. everyone has to be good at something in life.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I didn't say every day. I haven't had a Timmy's donut in more than 3 year bro.... so donuts have nothing to do with why I'm fat. Beer, amiright?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 chums..water > everything I bet everyone here drinks tap water or bottled water get a brita filter and drown in bliss.
Smokey Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 It's a discussion thread. Who cares Obviously I f***ing do you little f***ing s***!!!! I'm just kidding around nd was being mostly sarcastic before... But there is some truth however to the fact that if a mod wants to throw his weight around (hehe), he should at least first set a better example and gain some credibility before getting trigger happy.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Tap water is Canada is great though... why use a filter if you don't have to? Tap water is perfectly fine to drink but the taste is not as good, probably cause of the fluoride.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 chums..water > everything I bet everyone here drinks tap water or bottled water get a brita filter and drown in bliss. Do not get a Brita Filter unless you want to keep drinking contaminated tap water. The water will taste good because it removes chlorine and it will remove a portion of some other unwanted elements but overall you're still drinking dirty tap water. Buy spring water from a good source or consider reverse osmosis system (removes everything even minerals though).
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Tap water is Canada is great though... why use a filter if you don't have to? Beneficial if your supply pipes are copper instead of PEX, which I assume is the case for most people.

Questioning him banning people willy nilly in the same thread that triggered such bannings is going off topic, but not talking about donuts in a completely unrelated thread. O2 should ban himself.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Brita water does taste great. As do Iced Capps, though I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to those things. Tim Hortons coffee is often terrible, but is decent when you finally do get a good cup. Thankfully, I'm over buying fourteen before finally getting that one good cup. That Oreo donut was a massive disappointment. I don't really know what I was expecting it to be filled with, but finding out it was vanilla icing was not pleasant... I wanted to end this with something Blue Jays related, but meh.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Brita = placebo effect You only think it tastes better.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Brita = placebo effect You only think it tastes better. Sort of true... It does taste better but not because of the filtering. Leaving an unfiltered pot of water in the fridge accomplishes the same thing taste wise.

Not room temperature, but hot water. They also look at you oddly when you order ice water, or maybe that's just because you're white...

Ice water is a very North American thing (as far as I know) but most places would at least bring you room temperature water (which I don't mind). I had a teacher who drank hot water because she weened herself off of coffee but I always thought that was weird.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Brita = placebo effect You only think it tastes better. It removes 99% of chlorine, and that's what makes it taste better. There's no placebo effect.

They also add lemon or other stuff to it as well. Tastes nasty fo sho!

LTR Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 doubtful you'd be able to tell the diff It's completely obvious. Do you smoke? Smoking kills your taste buds.

But in many of those countries you'd probably be smarter to stick to something bottled.

There are lots of ways to make water clean but it's producting the energy required that's the kicker. In the case of the cruise ships, they are just recouping energy from the engines. Maybe we could this on a small scale? Like every car would have to purify a certain amount of water for every litre of fuel (or electricity) it consumes. Probably not a practical idea in the slightest but fun to consider.
