S33n Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 AA needs to make a move to get a starter ... I agree. I'd love to see him make a move for Cueto if the rental price isn't astronomical.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Yeah SP is Jays biggest need. Would allow Sanchez to go back to the pen which helps them out as well and could better manage his workload.

S33n Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 norris/copeland? Copeland did well last time but they can't call him up for another spot start until x amount of days served back at AAA. Norris shouldn't be called up unless they're confident he's ready to stay.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Copeland did well last time but I don't think they can call him up for another spot start until x amount of days served back at AAA. They could DL Sanchez to get around the 10-day rule. And then activate Sanchez for his next start, if he actually is healthy which could turn out not to be the case.

The the hypothetical DL stint would be backdated to the 6th, it makes the most sense if they decide he's being skipped again.

My error. He has since deleted the first tweet.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Jamie Campbell Hearing Sanchez to the DL.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Jamie Campbell Hearing Sanchez to the DL. Which means we likely see Copeland or Doubront(we have an open 40-man spot) Tuesday.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I thought he said it was "upper body". http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/mlb/toronto-blue-jays-place-rookie-pitcher-aaron-sanchez-on-15-day-disabled-list-with-upper-body-soreness http://metronews.ca/sports/1392337/blue-jays-to-skip-aaron-sanchezs-wednesday-start/ At first they said "overall body soreness" ish but they have since narrowed it to upper body. They are being pretty vague.

They are being pretty vague. its gotta be a shoulder issue, his velocity was dropping to the 90mph range in his last start.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 hopefully no structural damage. The fact that he would have had to bat maybe played into it too....hopefully they are just being overly cautious.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 If he's still sore, and it's nothing major, no sense in running him out there. DL him, retroactivate it, bring up someone to pitch, give Sanchez time off. Could help down the stretch and it would be a disaster to let him out there with something, even if it's just muscle soreness that isn't going away, to be aggravated, nag, make him less effective or might actually hurt him. With Estrada giving the BoSox back 5 runs after the Jays handed him 10 might be a red light to AA to try and nab at least a middle of the rotation kind of pitcher to help stabilize the rotation.
