No reason for Amaro not to ask for a lot, still plenty of time before the deadline. The price will come down

Also, if the Jays trade for an SP it has to be a front of the rotation type.... otherwise, not much improvement, just more depth

It goes up in demand, Jim.

Prospects, a bit of payroll to work with, potentially Navarro and another leaving town. We're positioned to be a player this deadline or even before. Let's hope Rogers & AA don't screw it up and learned from last years clusterf***. Edited by jays76

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Phillies are "eyeing" Daniel Norris in a potential trade with the Blue Jays for Jonathan Papelbon.

It would be shocking to see the Blue Jays entertain such a proposal. Papelbon is pitching very well this year, but his $13 million vesting option for 2016 remains a big obstacle. Norris is just 22 and considered one of the better young pitching prospects in the game.

Ruben Amaro off his rocker again. IMO only way Norris gets moved in a deal with Papelbon is if Hamels is included too, which isn't happening. If AA does anything remotely close to this I'm jumping on the "Fire AA" bandwagon. This is only *slightly* better than the proposed Hoffman for Duquette trade offer.

I remember reading somewhere Hamels wouldnt waive his no trade clause to come here.

Yeah, that's why I said it wasn't happening.
