Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 No reason for Amaro not to ask for a lot, still plenty of time before the deadline. The price will come down Also, if the Jays trade for an SP it has to be a front of the rotation type.... otherwise, not much improvement, just more depth It goes up in demand, Jim.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 It goes up in demand, Jim. Normally, but normal doesn't apply to Amaro
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Normally, but normal doesn't apply to Amaro Oh, I see...
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Oh, I see... when there are not takers for his ridiculous ask, he will lower it (unless he is dumb as a brick) economics 101

jays76 Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Prospects, a bit of payroll to work with, potentially Navarro and another leaving town. We're positioned to be a player this deadline or even before. Let's hope Rogers & AA don't screw it up and learned from last years clusterf***. Edited June 13, 2015 by jays76

tpurewal97 Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 If they eatting a ton of salary I'm very interested. just not at the price of Norris/Hoffman/Pompey
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I don't ever want to see Jeff Hoffman in a Phillies uniform.

ScientificReason Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 How could they get Cueto with Papelbon in a trade... Last I checked teams can do more then 1 trade in a season....
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Three-way deals are also a thing.
Bald_89 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Created an account just to post this debauchery: Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Phillies are "eyeing" Daniel Norris in a potential trade with the Blue Jays for Jonathan Papelbon. It would be shocking to see the Blue Jays entertain such a proposal. Papelbon is pitching very well this year, but his $13 million vesting option for 2016 remains a big obstacle. Norris is just 22 and considered one of the better young pitching prospects in the game. Ruben Amaro off his rocker again. IMO only way Norris gets moved in a deal with Papelbon is if Hamels is included too, which isn't happening. If AA does anything remotely close to this I'm jumping on the "Fire AA" bandwagon. This is only *slightly* better than the proposed Hoffman for Duquette trade offer.

I remember reading somewhere Hamels wouldnt waive his no trade clause to come here.
