flafson Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Reyes is still trending this morning. Man people are hating on him lol. He should at least donate his remaining salary so we could find some pitching.
homerbush Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I've been neutral towards Reyes all year, until 2 nights ago, i officially hate him now

Governator Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I don't understand what Goins' role is now on this team. If Gibbons can't see the logic behind using him as a late inning defensive replacement to Reyes, he serves only as an injury back up. He's the best defensive infielder on this team while we have a guy who prays every inning for the ball not to be hit to him. It's just a matter of time until it happens again.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 That's what puzzles me. If Goins is on the team, why the heck is he not a late inning defensive replacement? What's his purpose otherwise?
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Reyes on the leader board among SS: 13th wrc+ 12th wOBA 17th OBP 11th SLG 15th Def WAR 11th Off WAR 16th WAR 23rd BB% 25th K% 9th Avg That is horrendous. actually it is right around average..

What's his purpose otherwise? Smoak should be late inning replacement against LHP and start every game against a RHP Goins should play 7th inning on with a lead. Narvarro should be tied to the buffet in the clubhouse.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 actually it is right around average.. $22M for right around average =/
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 $22M for right around average =/ average is the new elite... elite is the new super elite or as we call it #fysmc

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 wRC+ of 84 on the season. Kinda scary how bad he is now.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 It's funny that people are finally admitting to just how bad Reyes has become.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 It's funny that people are finally admitting to just how bad Reyes has become. He might be below replacement from here on out.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 It's funny that people are finally admitting to just how bad Reyes has become. People were going after him all last summer as well (and I'm sure before that too), but ok sure let's go with this narrative.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 wRC+ of 84 on the season. Kinda scary how bad he is now. Lead off man with a .299 on base percentage
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Lead off man with a .299 on base percentage Awful. His bat is even crap now.....to go along with his defense he is a major liability.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Lead off man with a .299 on base percentage Come one, come all. All are welcome here!
polar bear Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Awful. His bat is even crap now.....to go along with his defense he is a major liability. He's always been an liability, how come it's taken so long for so many to finally realize this?
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 He's always been an liability, how come it took so long for so many to finally realize this? Not true. There was a time his bat and speed were good enough to overcome shoddy d. He has gotten worse every season with the jays.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 So what are you guys gonna do when he goes on his eventual hot streak and becomes an above average hitter again?
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 So what are you guys gonna do when he goes on his eventual hot streak and becomes an above average hitter again? Nothing? He would still be a liability. Average bat poor D is not hard to find.
polar bear Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Not true. There was a time his bat and speed were good enough to overcome shoddy d. He has gotten worse every season with the jays. I guess some of us have more insight of what is really going on.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 So what are you guys gonna do when he goes on his eventual hot streak and becomes an above average hitter again? Both Steamer and ZiPS project him as below average.
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I guess some of us have more insight of what is really going on. Well you clearly don't.
polar bear Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Well you clearly don't. Forget about the occasional hot streaks, his defense alone, has always been way below average. Hence a huge liability to the team.
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Forget about the occasional hot streaks, his defense alone, has always been way below average. Hence a huge liability to the team. I never once said I was only talking about his time here. Once his d was tolerable because his bat and speed were elite
polar bear Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I never once said I was only talking about his time here. Once his d was tolerable because his bat and speed were elite By all accounts his defense was already on the wane before we acquired him.
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 By all accounts his defense was already on the wane before we acquired him. What's your point? Never said it wasn't.
polar bear Verified Member Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 What's your point? Never said it wasn't. Hello!! Wake up Poon, my point is, he,s been a defensive liability from day one with the Jays.
