BTS Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Well that was worthless. Are the methods in the pay-only section?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Well that was worthless. Are the methods in the pay-only section? Just a feature he did for espn LA. Researching for 10 years means a lot of information. Does Harry still work for BP or is he a free agent?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Another useless stat that can't measure " Heart n Hustle" pffft!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Interested to see how Martin grades. So far I haven't been a fan of his game calling but who knows.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I expressly stated, over and over again on this board, that the new, more detailed information these tracking/recording methods would pull in would reveal a great deal of information related to abilities of hitters and pitchers to control quality of contact, and, therefore, non-"true outcome" events. Of course, the "smart" guys in the room all said no (but in a far more immature pissant manner). Some even said this information was already being utilized, and analyzed (by the covert think tanks running all of sports - aka the Illuminerdi), and that no such skills exist. And they were, of course, wrong. So now all the snarkmeisters who looked down on all the actual forward-thinkers (who thought forward by maintaining their grip on past and current reality, without letting incomplete numerical data and analysis get the best of their common sense), are stuck holding their tiny wee-wees in their hands ... left only to cry out "but ... but ... show me the data?!?" To Nox, and others of his ilk, I say ... FYSMIntimidatinglyGargantuanC. Run and hide. Create another screenname and act like you knew it all along. Refuse to believe it. Whatever your response, you just got bitch-slapped across the mothereffing universe. Winner, winner, Copperweld dinner. Moogy dinner, you f***ed up. As for winner, hardly. I'm sure the few boys that work in the industry have a leg up.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 "It's no coincidence that two of the last four Cy Young winners threw to the Tigers' Alex Avila (below) -- the 28-year-old has saved 31 runs over the last three seasons from his game-calling, ranking No. 2 in baseball behind A.J. Ellis." So because a guy is pitching well we're going to give credit to his catcher for calling the right pitches? Also Ellis catches the best pitcher in the game and the Tigers/Dodgers have had two of the best rotations in baseball regardless of who's catching. Dear god. I am going to suggest that this is total crap.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I wonder if pitcher quality has anything to do with this? what a load of crap..
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Didn't you say you wouldn't come back after you got banned, Moogy? Not that I'm surprised, considering you're socially retarded.

Just my opinion, but, I think the pair of you are very similar, and oft thinking you're superior in intellect, thus both retarded, Fluff Twins as it were?!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 You have to realize, Spanky, that absolutely no one takes you seriously, and only thinks of you as the crazy old drunk mascot, right? Right?!? "What will the insane drunken bastard do next? Oh, there he goes again! Silly Spanky!" You're a pet. Yes, I'm fond of this notion Rico, you keep going on girlfriend!
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 You cried when a steroid-abusing man-child who applied colorful makeup to his face, oiled himself up, and pranced around in tights for the entertainment of prepubescent boys, died. And then you posted about said crying on a baseball message board. You are, by right, never allowed to comment on the nature of another's social skills. Back in the day, after a day out on the diamond, I'd be the chap at the bar, hanging with my crew, cracking wise and having a ball while watching the game, before we went off to play pool, throw darts and chase skirts. When you're finally of age, you'll be the lonely, bitter dude in the corner mumbling to himself about how all the people having fun would get theirs one day, just like Hulk Hogan did that one time at Wrestlemania IIIDONTGIVEAf***, as you futilely try to moderate yet another internet message board doomed for failure. NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I trust Harry Pavlidis, but without a lengthy explanation this article is just a bunch of hot air.
