Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Loving the lack of walks and the groundouts are also nice.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Don't know this for a fact, but Hoffman was taken out with a low pitch count as he threw only around 35 pitches in his last 4 innings. Let's say he had 20 in the 1st, chich is probably high, but that would still leave him at around 55 for the game. They must be saving bullets for a late-season call-up
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Jeff Hoffman World Series MVP 2015.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 They corrected with Norris because he couldn't throw strikes...hasn't been a problem with Hoffman Not good for his long term health though...
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Not good for his long term health though... Some people don't need to have the same pitching motion as everyone else...see Sale as an example
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Jeff Hoffman World Series MVP 2015. Who are they trading him to?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Who are they trading him to? Astros for Correa.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Astros for Correa. lol Are you high? Dan Duquette is better asset than Correa en Jays rejected the deal. Maybe Bryant + Schwarber
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 lol Are you high? Dan Duquette is better asset than Correa en Jays rejected the deal. Maybe Bryant + Schwarber True. Wouldn't deal him for Mike Trout either considering we've already got Pillar and Pompey in AAA.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 True. Wouldn't deal him for Mike Trout either considering we've already got Pillar and Pompey in AAA. Yeah. Jays doesn't need to add more money to the current payroll. Trout is a decent player, but Pillar 500K is fine there
StroShow Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Some people don't need to have the same pitching motion as everyone else...see Sale as an example Except that there's been studies on elbow valgus load that show Chris Sale's arm is f***ed. Inverted W + sidearm slot = kill me please
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Except that there's been studies on elbow valgus load that show Chris Sale's arm is f***ed. Inverted W + sidearm slot = kill me please Easy with the proof StroShow - you'll get LTBF all flustered.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Except that there's been studies on elbow valgus load that show Chris Sale's arm is f***ed. Inverted W + sidearm slot = kill me please Tell me when Sale's arm is f***ed...hasn't happened yet...might not happen at all
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Tell me when Sale's arm is f***ed...hasn't happened yet...might not happen at all Well there's no arguing with this, He really got you StroShow.
StroShow Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Damn that's a career ender, except for the fact that he has already experienced elbow issues. He's doing a good job at trying to limit the stress (reducing slider usage), but he does not have a delivery you want to emulate.
StroShow Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Maybe not...but I'd like to emulate that success. Everybody wants to strike out 20 like Kerry Wood. He's still an awesome pitcher. He just might not be one for a long time.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 There isn't that much public evidence supporting certain mechanical positions being significant harbingers of injury. The more notable thing with Hoffman is that he's already blown out. Not good even if he recovers completely.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Sorry guy!! Doesn't Noah play in the National League for the Mets? Wrong forum fella.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Aaron Sanchez-esque, probably with more swinging strikes.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Aaron Sanchez-esque, probably with more swinging strikes. Wonder if Hoffman ends up being Sanchez like in terms that the stuff doesn't match the results. For such high velocity Hoffan much like Sanchez doesn't seem to get many swinging strikes. I think Hoffman's command will be much better though.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 This guy is the real deal -----> http://m.mlb.com/video/v146755483/houtor-osuna-strikes-out-side-to-escape-jam-in-9th/?query=aaron%2Bsanchez

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Pro debut 18 - Giolito R-ball: 22 IP, (9.9 K, 3.9 BB, 0.0 HR)/9, 2.58 FIP 22 - Hoffman +A-ball: 28.2 IP, (5.0 K, 3.1 BB, 0.9 HR)/9, +5.00 FIP
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 He just came back from TJS... give him time to get his command back. Its not the command I'm worried about. Its the lack of missing bats. The reports on his velocity are very high yet he is only striking out 5/9IP in A ball.
