#2.

He has a very bright future and the huge potential is obvious. The fact that he's gotten good results (maybe the best in our awful rotation?) is a nice bonus and he figures things out. And with the current state of this team I'll take in gladly instead of pissing all over him like half this board does.

well, 17 voted "ok for a 22 yr old 5th starter, erratic but effective"

the good guys win over Tercet and his disciples... BTS, Nox, Orgfiller, etc

I didn't vote because this is a stupid thread.

more walks than strikeouts

I don't think you're a Jays fan. Yesterday was a good result in the game of baseball. Bad in sabermetrics.

Candidate for worst post of the season.

I'd love to know who voted A. I'd guess Lettheballfly, saskjaysfan and jimcanuck. Homer trifecta supreme.

you guessed wrong. clueless.

You guys would lick a pitcher's sack if he gave up 10 runs and the Jays lost in the one game wildcard playoff if his BABIP was .800 and FIP was under 2.

Yep, probably should have went option 2...but he has exceed my expectations in some areas and appears to be getting better.

Why? Because fewer earned runs?

How is your boy JP Arencibia doing these days?

How many times have you mentioned the team's defense ITT? Because making slick diving plays isn't Sanchez's doing.

When Sanchez pitches the exact same way and gets shelled in his next start, don't say he pitched poorly.

He can't get shelled if he only gives up 1 hit and no runs.

Results exist, and as a Jays fan they're very important to me.

Didn't you say that Chris Johnson was one of the best hitters in baseball two years ago because he had a great "batting average"?

He has 11 walks and 8 Ks in his last two starts. Getting better. This forum is unbelievable.

more walks than strikeouts

7 hits per 9 innings compared to Buehrle 14.4

1.5 whip compared to Buehrle 1.85

Hutchison had a 1.6 whip before today

Norris also had a 1.5 whip

All in all he has been ok but the real concern should be our pitching staff is giving up more runners each inning then Sanchez

What does that have to do with this?

It has to do with the fact that you consistently have zero ability to assess players.

No.

He has had good moments and bad. Just need to start limiting the bad and he can be a good pitcher. He has shown the tools to get out of jams (some luck obviously) and when he does throw strikes it's been tough for hitters to make good contact. If he can keep throwing the good curveball the K numbers will rise as well

All im assessing is Sanchez's pitching and results so far this season. Pitching: not great. Results: Pretty good.

As a Jays fan the results are pretty important to me.

Like I said earlier, he is improving. Only five walks last night! Who knows maybe next time out he will only hand out four free passes!

From the GDT from Sanchez last start...

7IP 1H 4BB 3K No runs. 11 ground balls.

Thats a good start especially since 2 of the walks were a result of the ump.

Yep.. if Sanchez can get a .059 BABIP every game he should be just fine.

Lol are you the kind of guy who would be all happy if one of our starters gave up like 10 runs in 3 innings but had a FIP under 4

....Then uses JFaS system for DFS sports. Lmao.

...

I like analytics but I also like the Jays so any 7 inning, no run start from our awful starters is good in my eyes.

I think the board should give some kudos to Sanchez for battling out of the 4th inning last night. So much of this game is mental and to battle out of that and then go on to pitch significantly better in the 5th, 6th and 7th was fun to watch.

I have no idea if this kid will ever succeed, but here's hoping he's developing some confidence, the ability to adjust and to simply overcome adversity. As Jays fans, we need him to.

Lol not this again

Ironically Sanchez's start yesterday would've been quite good in DFS

The problem is half the board aren't Jays fans. They're FIP fans
